Re: Captain seat - runner springs
No thats not correct ! The rod should be sitting in between that prong , not to the side. Thats where the rod needs to move up and down, as it is now the rod cant move much on that side. The curled end of the spring is too near the bend of the rod as you have it now. The end of the rod will only st...

Re: 1.9 DG rebuild (2.1 MV stand-in)
That would be great, thanks! If they are 0.25 could you let me have the whole used set, as I'm looking into getting them re-metalled. I have loads of STD already (I remember once asking myself why I kept them - now I know [emoji16]). Sorry, haven't forgotten about this, need to measure the crank an...

Re: 1.9 DG rebuild (2.1 MV stand-in)
Looks like I might have snapped up the last ever set then! I was going to buy another T25 at some point, I'm now thinking that an air-cooled one might be a better option if WBX parts availability is going to be this problematic. I can give you the used no. 4 bearing I am removing from my DG if you w...

I have been told they were the last set, sorry!
They came from the US (= expensive).
And this assumes that they actually turn up...

Re: 1.9 DG rebuild (2.1 MV stand-in)
Well I have now managed to source some 0.25 u/s bearings, so having the crank reground for those is my backup plan. Assuming it isn't already reground to something smaller than that! Haven't measured it yet. If the crank is within spec for standard size, then I will probably just delay the rebuild...

Re: 1.9 DG rebuild (2.1 MV stand-in)
What do you plan to do about crank bearings etc? Hmm, good question! Only saw the post about them being unavailable after I started the engine strip down. Not that it matters anyway, as this is just a spare engine. But I definitely won't start a rebuild of the original MV that is in the Doka, un...

Re: 1.9 DG rebuild (2.1 MV stand-in)
Interesting. Are these still available and if so is the quality good? As far as I can remember I've only ever seen unbranded, or AA, or KS pistons for sale?

More progress. Cylinder bores don't look great but let's see what they look like after a clean-up, before deciding whether to replace: https://i.imgur.com/hfxCmgI.jpg Circlip removal and the standard Rawlbolt piston pin puller tool: https://i.imgur.com/0dbABb0.jpg https://i.imgur.com/AjYJu7h.jpg Pul...

For the benefit of the next person with the same problem, here are some photos of the springs in-situ, hopefully correct! https://i.imgur.com/d8UrX9t.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ekeIEpn.jpg https://i.imgur.com/YyU6IfD.jpg https://i.imgur.com/eVmTuGz.jpg https://i.imgur.com/MKl0703.jpg There was actually...

Re: 1.9 DG rebuild (2.1 MV stand-in)
Head removal: https://i.imgur.com/n6e4k8h.jpg Came off pretty easily so I'm guessing it's not long since they were last off. One of the cylinders came away with the head, but easily detached after: https://i.imgur.com/X6fK7Rc.jpg Four cylinders removed: https://i.imgur.com/N0r0FJu.jpg Flywheel easi...

1.9 DG rebuild (2.1 MV stand-in)
Further to this thread: https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=173832 I am rebuilding a 1.9 DG as a temporary stand-in for the 2.1 MV in my Doka Syncro. The 1.9 can go in the vehicle while I take my time with the MV rebuild, but the DG rebuild will also be good practice for the secon...

Re: Captain seat - runner springs
Yes, different material. So I have the old covers if you wanted them. Although some sections I unstitched to use for pattern making so they would need sewing back together.

Re: Captain seat - runner springs
Thanks guys. If I can take that spring from you that would be great. I will pay handsomely! I will PM you. Then all I need to do is find a 4th. I am restoring/recovering both seats as part of my Doka Syncro restoration. I guess I could have left the runners on the base while doing this, but to g...

Captain seat - runner springs
Hi All, This parts diagram shows a couple of springs on the seat runners (highlighted in red) but doesn't show exactly where or how they should be fitted: https://i.imgur.com/0f2xKRs.png When I disassembled my seats for restoration, I diligently photographed everything at each step, but the only pho...

Re: MV downgrade to DG (running a 1.9 with Digifant)
Is it a early DG ? If so it won’t have the second oil pressure port , but you can defeat the buzzer with the wiring . late DGs have the second port and will be the same as your MV Good question! As I understand it, the primary oil pressure port that all engine types have, is the one under the pus...
