Re: Clutch problems
I don’t have any info on the clutch setup to be honest - the van was converted to Subaru before I bought it and the person who did the work passed away so I can’t get any info. The gearbox is a Subaru 6 speed TY756, but not sure about the clutch. It was fine when I bought it but has had intermittent...

Clutch problems
Hi I’ve been having clutch problems for a while now - pedal going hard then soft, pedal moving up and down against my foot, clutch slipping, jerking, popping out of gear etc. etc. I’m looking for some pointers on what to try next. I’ve just replaced my slave cylinder which I realised was leaking and...

Northumberland/Scottish Borders Mechanics
Hi, Does anyone know of any VW mechanics/garages in North Northumberland or Scottish Borders - roughly the Newcastle to Edinburgh area? I'm looking for someone who knows the vans well and preferably with experience of Subaru coversions. No-one near me that I can find so far (Berwick upon Tweed). An...

Re: Replacement intake/throttle seal
Thanks Aiden - I've messaged HDC and will try Nick and Richard as they've helped me out before. Looks like a breakers might be my best bet if I can find one in decent condition.

Replacement intake/throttle seal
One for the Subaru people I'm looking for a new seal for where the air intake attaches to the throttle body as pictured. It is a 2001 Legacy H6 engine. Most of the online parts catalogues have this named as an air intake grommet - part number 14360AA002. All of them say discontinued. There is one us...

Re: Subaru Throttle Position Sensor
Thanks for the reply Aidan. I was looking at that site this morning but couldn’t find the right section - it’s a bit of a labyrinth! I didn’t realise how expensive they are - will definitely be looking for a cheaper version. Would be nice if someone does them in the Uk.

Subaru Throttle Position Sensor
Hi I’m looking for some advice on a replacement throttle position sensor for a Subaru H6 3.0 engine (from a 2001 Legacy Outback). So far I can’t find anything online - not even the OEM part number. Plenty for the 2.2/2.5l but nothing for the 3l engine. Does anyone know of an alternative that would d...

Re: Subaru Fuel Pump Recommendations
Thanks Aidan - thats a great explanation of how/why it works - it all makes sense now. I'll probably pop a cheap pump on just now to get it running and then go over the whole thing to make sure everything is in the right order.

Re: Subaru Fuel Pump Recommendations
Cheers totorro - that seems to be the way to do it (still don’t get why there’s a filter after the pump though). I’ll set it up like this anyway.

Re: Subaru Fuel Pump Recommendations
Ok thanks guys - I've never really looked that closely at the fuel tank yet so will have a check tomorrow - still just finding my way around this thing, one problem at a time. I've probably learnt more about the fuel system in the last couple of days than in the whole time I've had the van!

Re: Subaru Fuel Pump Recommendations
Perhaps I picked that up wrong from him - he didn't mention to put it after the pump but didn't specifically say not to. I'll have another look at the info he sent me. What is the purpose of putting the filter after the pump? I thought the point was to stop contaminants coming from the tank into the...

Re: Subaru Fuel Pump Recommendations
Thanks for all the input guys - seems there's a few that will do the job. Out of interest what are your various setups regarding inline filters? As I'm changing the pump I will do this as well. I curently have the filter before the pump. I'm getting different info from the forum and other people I'v...

Re: Subaru Fuel Pump Recommendations
Multsi - yes I've heard they're noisy. Will the bosch one work the same for the bigger 3.0 engine?
