Re: Chassis Leg Hole

Thanks for the kind offer, I've actually already made up a repair for it now. The indent down the centre was a bit awkward to do and doesn't quite follow the same line as before, but I'm fairly happy with the outcome (although not happy with my painting skills!) In the end the whole 2mm plate undern...

Chassis Leg Hole

Hi all. Has any one on here ever done a repair of the chassis leg closure plate where it meets the brace? Looking for inspiration for my repair strategy https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220711/600ecabf2e1707e9afee0958c9a40125.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220711/b25a504e32691cc73d893eabf4...

Re: Stainless Steel Silencer for Subaru Powered T25

Apologies for commenting on an old thread, just wondering what silencer/pipe diameter you went with in the end, and how does it sound?

JK Factory Window Seals

I made the mistake of buying the JK window seals for factory fit windows, without the channel for chrome trim. Has anyone ever used these successfully? I spoke to JK and they suggested I'm doing it wrong - they've never had any issues before. I've tried various lubricants and sizes/types of cord, to...

I'm sure this has been asked before, so apologies for asking it again if so. Has anyone had their van professionally resprayed, some time after painting it with combicolor? Did the combicolor cause any issues/extra expense? Cheers Sent from my Pixel 3a using Tapatalk I hvlp sprayed mine with rustol...

Re: BodyWork Repair - Shopping List

I wouldn't say tried and tested yet, but the paints I've been using when fixing my van over the last year (outside, in Scotland) are: - electrox - zinc paint, comes in a spray can, has a similar effect to galvanising. Dries quick, and is my go to after finishing welding. I've left metal painted in j...

Carrier Bolts Seized

Hi all, the 22mm bolts holding the front brake carrier on are seized solid. Tried penetrating fluid and as long a breaker bar as will fit, to no avail. Any tips for getting these off? TIA

Re: Panel metal thicknesses

Hi, here's the info, copied from this post: https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8252401 Body tinware 1-1.2mm not much difference to work with but the 1.2 is better to weld and work with gives good support when butt welding /letting in. 1.5mm for steps, lip and edge repairs, inner arch repairs...

Removing inner sill

Hello. I'm in the process of repairing the inner sill around the rear trailing arm mount. The mount itself is solid and firmly attached to the outrigger, so I've opted to cut the rusted bits out around it. Trouble is, I can't get the grinder in there - any tips for cutting this bit out? Thanks :) ht...

Re: Hello (first post) and sliding door lock advice...

Does the key turn in the lock when locking from outside?

I would try taking the door card off and removing the handle, then you can see if the lock is moving all the way across when you lock it from inside.
