Hi Moki
thanks for all your help. Just for the record I solved the issue (finally)
The starter cover marks were not aligned together - simple as that - and now it fires up without any problem and is idling fine...

Re: Pierburg 2E3 choke
Late coming into this thread and it suddenly dawned on me that I haven't got the plastic choke linkage as I bought my carb and throttle linkage separately.
Does anyone still have one and how can I buy it?...
Thanks

Re: Carburettor Choke Issue
Thanks again Moki.
Just trawling through the forum threads and came across the Pierburg 2E3 superpost.
I don't have a plastic choke linkage as I bought the carb and throttle linkage separately. Is this why it's not engaging the choke at start up...?

Just done a crude vacuum test on the old distributor as suggested by Mocki...no vacuum that I can see...could this be the culprit?

Re: Carburettor Choke Issue
Hi Mocki
thanks for the reply.
Will take your advice onboard when I try to start her up again. Do I need the little rubber elbows and/or clamps to improve the vacuum as at present I don't have any - just the hoses pushed over the pipes...?

Carburettor Choke Issue
Hi Everyone Losing the will to live trying to solve the issue on start up with my new Brosol 2E3 carb. It's mounted on my 1.9 DG WBX refurbished engine but the choke won't engage on start up into the first position. The engine runs fine if someone's manually adjusting it in the engine bay but I've n...

Heater Fascia Removal..
I've read and followed the forum threads but can't seem to budge the heater fascia. It says to gently pull it so I can examine the heater blower switch but I'm wary that it's going to break if I exert any further force. Any tips would be gratefully appreciated. Incidentally there's no engagement of ...

Re: No Heater or Radiator Fan - Common Denominator?
Hi Steve thanks for replying. I've discovered the "temperature sender" on the thermostat housing is actually an oil sender which I suspect was put in to blank it off. Would this have any effect on the fan not working up front (i.e. how it determines the temperature to cut in)? Best Regards...

Re: No Heater or Radiator Fan - Common Denominator?
Hi Steve thanks for the swift and concise reply. Thrown the towel in today so will have a go at bridging the connections tomorrow - I take it I don't need the car running hot for it to the fan to engage (or not as the case maybe)? Will give the fuse a good clean tomorrow and see if that does the tri...

No Heater or Radiator Fan - Common Denominator?
Hi Everyone Need some wisdom on my early 1.9 DG Water-cooled engine (1985) as it's driving me around the bend. The heater and radiator fan aren't working and I don't know why. I've read the forum threads on fuse 10 (bullet type) which is for the heater and wipers and the fuse (red) was very hot toda...

Brosol "2E3" Carburettor Accelerator Linkage
Hello everyone, Does anybody have a diagram or picture of the correct way to attach the accelerator cable to the Brosol 2E3 Carb on a 1.9DG? Pulling my hair out trying to figure it out and can't find anything online...no doubt it's simple enough but I can't figure it out.. As ever any help would be ...

Bigherb you're a star...
Do the brown wires go to one side of the coil under the mountain bolts or either side?
Many thanks
