Re: Pop rivets
Did you get one zooma? I need to fit the fog lamp brackets, no-one I know has more than the hand held pop riveters, which I have already [emoji848] No, i didn't - like kentishvanman i couldn't really justify the price for a decent one and don't like buying cheap tools. My only advice would be think...

Re: Froli bed system
We only put a thin topper from the bottom bed and the reflective screen covers up there. They are quite soft, but I think it would take quite a lot of weight to bugger them up... Ultimate goal is to try to put them into the seats under the foam, which means that my 10 year old would be sitting on th...

Re: Froli bed system
The froli bit fits under the sliding section, but you have to take the 'mattress' (and I use that term completely incorrectly for the very thin but if foam!) bit off.
It definitely makes it more fiddly, but it's not the end of the world.

Re: Froli bed system
Westfalia are using it in their new builds:

I will be experimenting with the lower bed today. The 30 odd year old foam is getting a little tired in ours...

Re: Froli bed system
I seem to be chatting to myself, but just in case anybody is listening... I fitted this to the top bed, and my daughter reports that it is much more comfortable.
One standard pack was enough to cover most of the top bed - easily enough for one person.

Re: Buying second hand engine
They don't trust anything non-Swiss. I was quoted 9-10k to rebuild an SP here, and they said anything rebuilt in England would be ""pooh"". Did they follow it with "Building a waterboxer engine is very much like making love to a beautiful woman..." ? Sent from my ONEPL...

Re: Buying second hand engine
Let get some prespective here. Switzerland is a fabulously weathly country with a very high standard of living. Even minimum wage is twice (l think) the UK's. So naturally everything costs more to buy and do. Including cost of living, property and transport. In it's own world it works very efficien...

Re: Buying second hand engine
They wouldn't be wrong. Most are recycled, a few are done well. £5.6k is knocking on 2.5 money. I would have built a stealth 2.1 DJ inside the SP case and enjoyed a good bit more performance. In the UK I would have thrown a subaru engine in it immediately... I am a visitor here, and we may eventual...

Re: Buying second hand engine
Swiss francs. 5.5 to fit and 1.8 for a second hand (SP) engine - had to stick to an SP.
I would have done it myself, but I don’t have anywhere to work on it. Our garage is normal size, and this is a high roof Westfalia. We keep it in a barn when not using it, but can’t work on it there.

Re: Buying second hand engine
Hi, sorry - we went skiing for a week. The joys of not being in the UK... Yes, it is back in the road. New (190k km...) engine installed while we were away, and seems to be running fine. In fact, it is much smoother than the old one. Perhaps the problem that killed it was a problem for a while?... I...

Froli bed system
Has anybody retrofitting this to their camper? https://www.froli.com/shop/schlafen-unterwegs/bettsysteme/101/froli-travel Beds are getting uncomfortable, and we have tried this in a new camper and seems to be very good I have ordered one set to go in the high roof for my daughter as the mattress up ...

Yup.
But if you ever got caught, I imagine the fine would be HUGE.
It's all about the fines here.

Re: Buying second hand engine
They check for the SP code on the front of the engine number.
It has been suggested by my garage, that they could accidentally modify the engine code on the block, but I don't want to ask them to do that.
