Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
That's the blow back fitted in the above picture, between the AFM and the air intake boot. https://lpgautosupplies.co.uk/shop/lpg-parts/mixersetc-for-induction-systems/blow-back-72mm-mf-band-type-v0070/ I had a bad feeling you'd say that! Obviously it's possible to fit these in with the standard ai...

Thanks for the link but that is way too pricey for my tastes.
So if I'm keeping the digijet, single point is what you recommend then, yes?

Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
https://i.imgur.com/E9xPEVi.jpg This image is on Itchyfeet's wiki on the DJ, and I remember seeing it in a post where I thought someone said that the red ring is the LPG mixer, hence thinking I'd have a job getting it in. On closer reading, the description of the photo clearly says the mixer is bef...

Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
I wouldn't fit that on a DJ with digijet, mainly for the reasons given. I have removed similar kits in the past and converted back to single point. Customers have then reported improved smooth running, more power, and better economy. Maybe (and this is certainly possible) Mick knows a trick or two ...

Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
Ah, ok, that's a good sign. Mick is a good guy, and lpgautosupplies are what used to be called Tinley Tech. They supplied almost all of my conversion parts, so Mick will know what I preferred to use. Let us know what he recommends and I'll see if I agree [emoji16]. The main problem is that if it's ...

Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
I have just been re-reading your initial posts on the thread , and noticed this: "Fortunately (well, for the bus at least, not my bank account) I’m having a new LPG system that I’m told will work with the digijet system " Do you know what system your installer is planning to fit? I'm fear...

Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
If you are fitting the DJ with early cooling system, then you would need to find somewhere to fit the Temp II Sensor for the ECU. I didn't find any DH parts, as they are not very common at all. I drilled and tapped my DF thermostat housing. And the cross engine pipe is just one that finally turned ...

Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
I'm late to the party, but I understand you want to fit a DJ with digijet in place of a DF? As a consequence you feel you need to also swap the cooling system? If so, that isn't strictly necessary. Another option is to just use the early cooling system on the DJ, and maybe re-purpose the carb choke...

Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
I know I'm biased but I really can't see what you're trying to gain, I've had an early (late) cooling system with a 2.1 running on a carb for about 16yrs without a single issue. I even managed to plumb the oil cooler thing in. All the best anyway. I do appreciate the advice, really I do, but the is...

Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
Only automatic transmissions have the five spigots on the distribution towers iirc I think I made a fundamental mistake that is now breeding unnescesssary confusion. Looking at the two variants on the brickwers site, the early-late and the late-late both have 5 spigots (the 5th, not shown on your f...

Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
I think you are having a few crossed wires with terminology here . Early cooling system 82-84 has two big rubber rad hoses around the front of the engine bay with rubber spigots for the t bleed and metal thermostat housing on water pump at rear of engine Late Early is the same but has plastic bleed...

Re: Coolant pipes for 1983 petrol
I was looking to replace all, my local garage has recommended I do so as the metal pipe are corroded and the remaining ones aren't much better. Best dig deep then, Brickwerks as already suggested. They do standard rubber as well as silicon versions of some so the choice is yours, the early systems ...

Re: 2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
@Stesaw, Thank you so much for the prompt reply and the photo – it’s kind of obvious now why I never spotted it behind the bulkhead there in the hundreds of photos of engine bays I’ve looked at! I was half hoping that it was hiding somewhere under the air filter housing, but neither location is i...

2.1 DJ Coolant System Layout Help Needed
Hi All, I've scoured the forums, Google and YouTube trying to find a solution to my quandry and have decided I need to just ask for help. I'm swapping out my 1.9 DF WBX with the 'old' coolant system and am putting in a rebuilt 2.1 DJ with digijet with the 'new' system. I already have a DJ engine to ...
