Slave cylinder lines
I’ve been trying to replace the slave cylinder on my ‘84 1.9 DG and have managed to get the new one in all fine, problem is with clutch/brake fluid lines. The solid line between the slave and the flex hose was seized solid and rather than try and undo two ends for reuse I bought a new solid line fro...

Re: Broke down again
Could there be a blockage in the fuel pump itself? I broke down in France a couple of days ago (still waiting for breakdown to find a garage with availability) and checked the fuel filter and it was letting fuel through. Thought it might have been an airlock in the system so collected some fuel afte...

Re: New alternator in France?!
Well that was interesting. Driving from Cherbourg to St Malo after confirming that the alternator was still intermittently supplying power to the battery when the van cut out - but not because of the battery?! Starter motor sounded fine but van just turning over. Checked fuel filter and not blocked ...

New alternator in France?!
On holiday and alternator has gone, any suggestions on where might stock one? All of the usual UK sites seem to be on back order so think it could be a problem here too. Any advice would be great. Battery light does go off intermittently but battery doesn’t seem to be charging, battery voltage drops...

Re: Gear linkage position after fitting SHC short shift
The spring should be under the collar (now in higher raised position) and stood on top of the plastic fingers. Quickshift spacer kits move the pivot ball to change the leverage ratio, the lever itself doesn't move up or down. Hmm, that all makes sense and aligns with what I was picturing in my head...

Gear linkage position after fitting SHC short shift
I’ve fitted the short shift kit from slaughterhouse customs, followed all the instructions fine, but when I reassembled everything the two prongs at the bottom of the gearstick are sat well above the aluminium guides. I used the plastic guide sheath so I drilled the hole in the right place but I’m n...

Cab door seals - best adhesive?
I’ve read the wiki but also seen evostick referenced elsewhere. What have people used for this?

Cab Door Seal Replacement
I've just bought a couple of cab door seals from Schofields as mine are torn at the bottom letting rain in which sits on the already rusty cab steps. I can't find any info on how to fit them anywhere. My old seals seem to have been put in with adhesive but the new ones have plastic clips with them. ...

Water tank salvageable?
My Holdsworth Villa 2 used to have a plumbed in water tank with a foot switch but at some point it was all cut out and disconnected. The empty water tanks is still mounted under the van. Has anyone had experience fitting water from scratch and would care to point me in the right direction for settin...

Re: Heater only blows warm air
This thread couldn't have come at a better time. I had some of the dash out and decided to check the cables as I only get warm air through. Low and behold, the temp cable is bent and only folds up on itself when sliding the lever. The bottom cable isn't connected to the lever at all. Is it a case of...

Re: Where do buy your windows from?
Finally got the windows back in, made a right pig's ear of it but hopefully it's water tight at least. I took the glass window out from the offside rear which happened to have a curve in it. Took it to a plastic engineers shop and got two flat perspex window panels made up using the glass as a rough...

Re: Resealing fibreglass roof
I hope so. I'm doing a re lining of the poptop inside too, and chasing down condensation (which might be a large part of my problem). I've also re done the cable entry from the panels in a much better way. If it's dry tomorrow, I might do the owatrol, so will post back then. Did you manage to get r...
