Cant seem to get a solid brake pedal
1984 t25 Im having a hell of a job getting my brakes to work properly. My master cylinder went south so i bought a new one. When i took it out the servo booster was full of fluid so i bought one of those too. I matched the pushrod length from the old one fitted it all up. Nightmare job!! I bled the ...

Re: CS Diesel Spigot Bearing?
Obviously I'm hoping that's not the case but it's possible, though it works fine in every way other than the noise. I changed the oil fairly recently and the magnet wasn't full of swarf or anything.
I really hope it's not gearbox related

Re: CS Diesel Spigot Bearing?
Actually looking at Brickwerks seems the spigot bearing for the diesels is the same as the JX as their one says suits all VW t3 diesels. Didn't notice this B4. Thanks all. Will get it ordered but might wait for slightly better weather before doing it. Will report back what I found when I do it Paul

Re: CS Diesel Spigot Bearing?
Thanks for replying.
Oddly enough that's what it sounds like.
I can get a three piece clutch kit can't seem to see a spigot bearing for my van though. Just don't want to not have a £10 part to finish the job after taking the gearbox out of it turns out that's the problem

Re: CS Diesel Spigot Bearing?
Hi
I did think that but then thought it was more likely to be the release bearing if it made a noise with the clutch down rather than up?

CS Diesel Spigot Bearing?
Hi All, 1984 CS code Diesel 1.6 (non turbo) I have a rattling sound when in neutral and the clutch pedal up. This noise stops when I press the clutch. I'm thinking it's the spigot bearing? If it is I can remove the gearbox and replace it, will probably do the clutch at the same time. But would appre...

Re: Does anyone sell the correct offset alloys
I'm open to Pentas or similar and have looked at some merc and Audi wheels too. Though buying off ebay seems to be a bit of a minefield with people generally not quoting the offset, centre bore or stud hole sizes. I've had a saved search on ebay for months for "vw t25 alloys" but all that ...

Re: 84 1.6D stripped head for injector
So i picked up the cut down tap, the guy said it was a bit of a pain to cut but he managed. He used some circular disc cutter with water cooling. I retapped the hole fitted the new seal then torqued down the injector .It was still chuffing a little with the injector at 50 ftlb but nipped it a touch ...

If theyre the same as in the beetle then theyre M8 1.25 pitch. You should be able to get them from a hardware store or maybe even halfords or Eurocarparts.

Re: 84 1.6D stripped head for injector
He has allsorts of stuff down there, they do fabrication and general engineering projects too.I didnt ask too many questions but he did say i would have probably ruined it if I'd took a grinder to it as it would get too hot. Will ask what he did when i collect it tomorrow.

Re: 84 1.6D stripped head for injector
So I've taken the tap down to our local blacksmith (so lucky we have one still) he's going to take the tapered end off the tap for me. I didnt fancy trying to do it myself as it would take forever and get hot. Will be done by tomorrow for the pricely sum of £12 My new inserts arrive tomorrow too so ...
