Ta dah. Pictures I hope. And it's quiet enough to let it run while sleeping in the camper. Fan is 50mmx50mm £3.98 from Ebay. Dehumidifier was under £6.00 and the cheapest refill absorbent granules £2.50 for 2kg from Homebargains.

Condensation
Just thought I'd share this. I added a USB powered fan to a "passive" moisture trap and ran a back to back test in my camper over the last 48 hours against a standard trap just to see if I was gaining anything. As you can see the powered trap removed 208cc of water while the ambient only ...

Re: westy kitchen lights
Just a suggestion. In my Westy I stripped out the original 12v tubes and electronics from the lamps and stuck 2 LED strips on to the original aluminium reflector. 1 LED strip is a "warm" white, the other a "cold" white (i.e., brighter and closer to daylight) with a 3 way rocker s...

Re: Heater motor fan
This is something I posted a couple of years ago, the PVM is still going strong (which is more than can be said for the diesel motor). This is the one I used, you need one with 5 wires to the rheostat which allows the unit to be completely switched off (unlike the first 3 wire one I bought which alw...

Re: Blower pwm upgrade
This is the one I used, you need one with 5 wires to the rheostat which allows the unit to be completely switched off (unlike the first 3 wire one I bought which always had a small draw). I removed and bridged the forward-reverse switch. Only fitted 4 months ago so I can't say how long it going to l...

Re: Chinese heater in place of eberspacher
Yes it's doable, I'm half way through fitting one in mine. A 2kw heater just fits in the housing (FlowerW 2kw from Amazon). https://i.imgur.com/XZ94v71.jpg Will connect the original Ebersbacher hot and cold ducting but run the 60mm hot air duct up through the original 100mm duct. Cold air will come ...

Mustie1 loves his VWs. This is his resurrection of an 88 Westy. Loads of Beetle and split screen stuff with added motorbikes.

Can't help you but I followed your link to the camera and the second picture in the listing made me cringe, guy working with his head under the sill and the car on a small scissor jack. (shame there isn't a squashed hear emoji)

Proxxon have a good reputation in Germany. German quality.
I've not bought a sander but I have a spanner set and a couple of socket sets from Proxxon.

Re: Odometer stopped working
When replacing the speedo needle you'll see right on the edge of the speedo face at about half past six a tiny tiny white paint mark. the needle should be aligned with this, pushed home and then lifted carefully over the stop pin. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=292298 I fixed my o...
