Re: Engine bracket
Hey Dude, Right i could be wrong on this but i think the petrol and diesel engine 'bars' are different so start there, do you currently have a diesel fitted? or are you converting from petrol to a 1.9 diesel? you could find you need to get yourself a set of new diesel engine bars, (ebay, 2nd hand sh...

Re: Putting a t25 on garage ramps
Thanks for the advice everyone! Put some wood under the rear cross member and used the jacking points (slowly) she is solid, pleasantly surprised, a few bits that need addressing but thats van ownership! ....what wasn't nice to find is that the coolant leak i was tracing is right above the fuel tank...

Re: Gearbox oil (again)
Hello Again! Thread revival! gearbox oil is on the long list, have perused this thread and many other but wanted to ask in terms of fully synthetic and semi synthetic, i saw a few comments that fully synthetic is better? Why is that? Sorry if i should know this, but i always thought that a semi-synt...

Re: Putting a t25 on garage ramps
The forward outriggers are only folded sheet steel channel section and not parallel to the floor... If you doubt the state of your jacking points 1. get them investigated/repaired 2. repeat 1 ;) Sent from my S60 using Tapatalk Indeed, i agree, i feel there must be a reasonable alternative until thi...

Re: High-top, pop-top, what top?
Hey, im also new(ish) here too but we have just been through the same debate (all be it with a much smaller kiddo) what we went for is the side elevating pop top, it an easily sleeps 2 up to down, to top would be a little short for say 6ft+ but i sleep in there at the moment and its very comfy and w...

1.7D (KY) Valve Clearance Adjustment
Hi All OK our florence has a 1.7Ky in her and i went back and am in the process of documenting everything (services work etc) i can see she is up for a new timing belt and water pump soon, i can also see she had a rebuild about 1998 (i dont know if that's a good thing or a bad thing  ), one t...

Re: 1.9 AFN TDI silly question
Oh interesting! to be honest i hadn't even considered it with the rarity and cost of the UN1 i written off that route, interesting to know there is substantial fabrication though, I dont think il use the P/S pump, i actually dont find the steering that heavy on these busses. I think if i go flipped ...

Re: 1.9 AFN TDI silly question
Yeah Gearboxes have always been a daunting prospect! the ideal would be to use the original rebuild to a spec that would suit but as you say it can get quite pricey. Im looking at the flipped AFN gearbox at the moment, ultimate engineering have done alot of the 'grunt work' us, saying that still loo...

Re: 1.9 AFN TDI silly question
Mark thanks for taking the time to respond in such detail, i was going to ask what your solution was, the 1.7 box would appear to have the same ratios as a 1.6TD box i think if im reading this correct http://vwt3.com/t3-tech/t3-data/t3-gearbox-codes/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return...

Re: 1.9 AFN TDI silly question
Thank you guys, Mark thank you for your details, i would like to use my box with an adjusted final drive a few other things in the first instance then rebuild when £ allows (im also looking to tune the engine to suit the ratios alittle better if its possible), and i would like to install the AFN at ...
