I upgraded to the 23mm ARB from brickwerks and i really liked the easy idea off the drop link being bolted on the end instead of a ring, so would make for changing really easy i did update all my bushes to power flex and can say it sits lovely and handles very well.

Re: Alternator Question
Try something the likes of: https://www.gsfcarparts.com/982aa0690 ? When I was a whipersnaper apprentice we had a block of stuff (it stank) to dress V belts. Stan the man used to give his Rover 100 a quick spray of 3in1 or similar to stop the dynamo belt sqealing.... Hmmm might get some of that and...

Re: Alternator Question
The belt is slipping when when the voltage is low because that is when the alternator is working hardest to try to raise the voltage. If you have a single belt but double pulley/pulleys does that result in the pulleys not being in accurate alignment and possibly causing rapid wear of the belt? My jx...

Re: Alternator Question
Is it squealing on the alternator or the water pump? 14v might be a red herring and just coincidence with when your water pump frees off? Defo on the alternator, I have had it all apart and check the WP and alternator pulleys, refitted with new belt and squeal, but as I say once it’s up to voltage ...

Re: Alternator Question
You may can sort the pulley with some emery cloth/sandpaper and elbow grease. If you remove the alternator you can turn the pulley by a drill and hold the sandpaper to remove the shine. I am not sure why VW used the 2 belt system in the first but later they changed to the single belt - much easier ...

Re: Alternator Question
The glow plugs draw quite much current during post glow after the start. Your alternator pulley probably polished up by squeaking a few times so it squeaks easier. May worth to sand blast it or resurface the V in a lathe yeah its just annoying no matter how much i tighten up the belt, i dont have a...

Alternator Question
Ok, so every time i start my van and the voltage is low the Alternator squeals until it goes pass 14 volts or there about, my engine is the 1.7 Diesel, one belt covering the crank, water pump and Alternator, i have good voltage coming from the Alt, and my regulator is brand new. When i tighten the ...

Re: Dash 14 pin connector
What is the problem with the connector that is already fitted? getting hold of the pins for starters, i have a couple that no longer have any tension on them so have had to bend them out to make contact with the dash connector, unless you know somewhere that sells them, i have tried but cant find a...

Re: Replacement hazard switch
The way i got round this was to buy the steering upper cowl that houses the newer version hazard switch, and moved it from the dash to the upper cowling simple. See Pic below https://i.ibb.co/ZYncYRF/Hew-version-hazard-switch.jpg This is the hazard switch that was picture by the original O.P and the...

Re: Dash 14 pin connector
I should be ok, as i replaced my blue foil a couple of years ago, so i have the Gowesty pub board which has enough wire to be able to change over to a more available connector, preferable a slimline one which has the 14 pins in a line rather than a block. :ok Think i might get that Delphi GT 150 so...

Re: Dash 14 pin connector
On some old forums once I saw somebody used a DB connector from a PC or something on his custom blue-circuit replacement project, however a 14pin Molex Micro-fit would be a great substitute https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/618vDwN39zL._AC_SL1500_.jpg Yeah I like that, would make the connection b...
