I'll look at the "correct way" of removing the guides as soon as I manage to source companies that make Custom made seat covers.

I managed to get one of the guides out - not too difficult - presume the others will follow when I'm ready.
Just out of interest - do you think I could have fitted the seat covers without taking the guides out?
I really can't remember taking the guides out in the past.
I have to say that I have taken these guides out years ago when I fitted the existing seat covers, but I honestly can’t remember how I did it!!!
It definitely wasn’t done by going inside the seat.

I have a spare cab door handle/lock for my van. I have stripped it down to the component parts, taken out the cylinder locks and removed the 7 brass wafers, whch I have put to one side.(Without realising at the time that they were all slightly different !!! :oops: I tried putting the wafers back int...

Just one thing - If any of the levers are placed in the central position, do they have any addtional functions?
Can't understand why I never had the problem before??
(Unless the previous pump wasn't original VW, as I am assuming) - and the previous pump did have a non-return valve built I?
