So if i'm reading this right, the inlet valve on Cylinder #1 should start opening where my 5 degree BTDC mark is on the top of the engine? Is that how i'd check it? There's an approximate way of measuring the lift at the valve, and calculating back from there. The cam timing is available on Brickwer...

Ok so decided to get a Bosch coil off brickwerks, bench tested resistance before i ever connected it to anything. The coil is part number 211 905 115 B which i got off autodoc and is made by NGK. Didn't want to get the brickwerks Bosch one as shipping to me is £30. The new carb fixed it however it's failed within 1 year as it keeps overfueling. Would not recommend the Brosol carb.
