Re: Double glazing
Just to confirm Smosh, I have aftermarket westy style windows on my converted panel van which doesn't have the recess: http://i922.photobucket.com/albums/ad62/carcavella/P1020494.jpg Hi, I am trying to add Westy double glazed windows to the rear side of my converted panel van. Having bought them an...

Re: Rear hub nut cracker tool
I think it could damage both the bearings and the beraring housing. I've taken the bearing housings round to my local garage to replace the bearings for and will let you know if I've knackered the housings. The next problem I've got is trying to re- torque the hub nuts to 500nm. The Empi thing defin...

Re: CV Joint Gasket or seal
Ok thanks Mocki, there certainly weren't any when I removed the CV but have seen a gasket in a forum photo which might be on a Syncro CV, is that possible.

Re: Rear hub nut cracker tool
I used the Empi spanner hammer thing and it worked with wheel on the ground but had to use a standard steel 14" wheel.

CV Joint Gasket or seal
Hi Can anyone advise on whether my standard 1.9dg WBX drive shaft CV,s need a gasket on re-assembly between the CV and the drive flange and or the boot. I've stripped down my drive shafts and CV joints but didn't see gaskets but images in various websites show gaskets as part of replacement kits. I'...

Re: Temp gauge sender - linear resistance?
Hi there, I have exactly the same problem, brand new sensor now showing 3/4 and keep bottling out of leaving it till the fan cuts in. I'm planning on swapping the old one back in. What did you end up doing.

Re: Replacing cooling pipes
Further to running lean. I've just been reading another post where a stainless exhaust was fitted causing the engine to run lean. I'm assuming through better airflow but the carb needs re- jetting to suit. I have also fitted a second hand stainless exhaust which is bigger bore and tubular so definit...

Re: Replacing cooling pipes
I think your dead right about changing the rad. I think the more things you do on the cooling system the more stuff ends up clogging in the rad and it may also be leaking. My son's nursing it round Scotland at the moment but when he gets back it's new rad first then new tank.

Re: Replacing cooling pipes
Hello, further to the overheating problem I had attributed to the changing of the coolant pipes. My son has been using the van round Scotland for the last 3 weeks with no issues on A & B roads staying below 50 miles an hour. The only time he has had overheating problems has been after sustained ...

Re: Replacing cooling pipes
I think your right but it's really frustrating when you do work to make the van better and end up in a worse place. I changed the water pump initially last year when it was leaking, my son then took the van round Scotland, had a leak at the front of the main plastic pipe in Oban. A garage did a fix ...

Re: Replacing cooling pipes
Thanks Mocki that's good but I kind of hoped I had done it wrong as it would explain the succession of leak since I've done it. The only thing I can think of now is the radiator is clogged up.

Re: Replacing cooling pipes
I have seen this image and it confuses me more, I think I have plumbed mine that way as it actually shows the lines crossing. The right hand connection is the return, which I'm assuming drains the bottom of the radiator and the left hand connection is the pressure which I think should feed up to the...
