Re: New to this and need help.
Assuming tyre pressures are correct and the van is pretty level front to rear the understeer is indicative that you need a softer front end: softer springs or softer ARB You could be right. I will re-check the cold tyre pressures and see if that makes a difference too. It has been set up to be pret...

Re: New to this and need help.
It handles very well, except... in the wet it is awful and will spin up the back wheels in second gear. It also pushes the front when the back does grip. I have read that the Goodyears are really a summer tyre and so am assuming that the loss of grip is down to them and not the suspension set up so...

Rick
How are you getting on with the Agilis? It looks like you have the same suspension set up as me and I am struggling with my Goodyear Cargos especially in the wet so was thinking of changing them for the Michelins. Did you put the Bilstein B8s from Brickwerks on?

Re: New to this and need help.
Hi, also new to this but had some good advice on the problem I was having so thought I would share my experience with tyres and in particular, Goodyear Cargos. I have them on my 2.1 water cooled. It is an 86 autosleeper pop top fitted with bilsteins from Brickwerks, eibach springs and powerflex bush...

Re: Metallic tapping coming and going 2.1 in my '86
Ok...following both your advice I have repacked the CVs, they were dry...! But not pitted and the gaiters fine. So far seems to have done the job but need to run it for a bit longer to be sure, given the on/off nature of the tapping before. Either way it needed doing and is another job ticked off. T...

Re: Metallic tapping coming and going 2.1 in my '86
Thanks Mocki. Yes recognise that description, the roads were really bad and I did bottom out a few times but everything underneath is in good shape. Checked the half shafts and cvs and nothing loose or knocking. It started on the way over to Fishguard in the rain on the M4 then stopped the next day ...

Metallic tapping coming and going 2.1 in my '86
Hi all, new to this forum and looking for some ideas please. I have an 86 autosleeper pop top which I have rebuilt pretty extensively. Underneath now B8s and eibachs from Brickwerks along with power flex bushes throughout. Engine built from scratch by Andrew at Campershack - 2.1 with an intercooler ...
