Thanks for the reply. I spoke with brickwerks early in the week and they have said the turbo isn't standard therefore this part won't fit unfortunately.

Turbo Oil Return Hose
Hi, I have a 1.6TD 1983 Camper and need a hose to go between the Garrett turbo and the sump. I'm struggling to work out exactly what I need and how to get hold of one? The sump would appear to have a threaded adapter on it which I think measures 16mm and the turbo has metal pipe that again measure ...

Re: Fumes in cabin 1.9TDI
Thanks for the reply, the tailgate was loose which meant the seal around the edge was probably letting in the fumes. A much easier fix than I thought! Thanks

Fumes in cabin 1.9TDI
Hi, my dad has recently bought a 1988 multi van which has a 1.9TDI engine conversion (AFN from a Passat). When the heater in the cabin is on and you are on the motorway there is a really strong smell of exhaust fumes inside. We have checked the exhaust and engine cover but there doesn't seem to be a...

Re: Bosch Fuel Pump Leak
Thankyou that is really useful! When taking it off/putting it back on is there anything I need to be careful of in terms of engine timing? Ive read a couple of horror stories online about it and this pump?

Bosch Fuel Pump Leak
Hi, I have recently discovered a leak on my 1.6TD van between the distributor head and main body of the Bosch VE pump. It leaks when you start the van and then slowly lessens as the engine warms up. From my research it's an o ring that needs replacing. Ive been quoted £450 from a Bosch service centr...

Re: Slow Diesel Starting
New fuel filter has worked a treat! Not sure what was wrong with the JK one or If had not put it on correctly but the one from brickwerks has cured the issue for £7. Thanks everyone.

Re: Slow Diesel Starting
Thanks for the replies, the glow plugs are staying on for about 30seconds before I can hear the relay clicking off and the voltage drop . New fuel filter has been ordered to try this week.

Re: Slow Diesel Starting
Cheers for all the replies, I'll have a look at all the above and report back with any findings/success (fingers crossed). There is a small amount of white smoke when the van starts but clears within seconds, I assumed that was an old diesel thing?

Re: Slow Diesel Starting
I can time it properly if needed but estimated 5 seconds? Seems too quick for an old diesel?

Slow Diesel Starting
Hi, hoping for some advice to save a trip to the garage. I have a 1.6td JX engine. The van always starts however takes about 20-30seconds of cranking to actually start. Once it’s run for a while the van starts no issues. I’ve had the battery checked and changed the glow plugs. What else should I be ...

Sliding Door Wont Open From Outside
Hi, I have a 1983 van and the sliding door can't be opened from outside. The interior handle works fine but the exterior handle will only lift the catch not move the rod to actually open the door. Does anyone know if it is possible to fix or get a replacement mechanism? Thanks
