Re: Alternator part found?
Hi Rob, this sounds like a plan. Need one for Thursday latest becuase I'm planning on taking her on her first holiday Friday, typical isn't it. I don't know the output, numbers have been rubbed off but I was hoping at least a 65amp, I have a leisure battery but not a full on kitchen conversion so po...

Alternator part found?
Evening all. My alternator has stopped working and struggling to source the correct one due to the pulley configuration. I've got a 1.9 DG 1988 I have removed the alternator and had a look at the brushes by removing the regulator, and this could be my problem. There is a copper u shape piece of meta...

Re: Mega creaking noise - front somewhere
Ok. 2 new shocks fitted. Still got the noise. As much as it's frustrating me Rusty is driving like on air. My point being if you have some spare cash I would recommend slowly upgrading or replacing old bushes / shocks that could be 30 years old. The van is very smooth now and I'm really surprised in...

Re: Mega creaking noise - front somewhere
Now I'm getting really annoyed Changed and upgraded the rollbar bushes to polyurethane. Still bloody creaking. I've backed off the track control arms and still creaking, it sounds like it's getting worse. So far I have replaced rollbar bushes, bottom tc bushes, replaced full ns upper arm. I have 2 s...

Re: Mega creaking noise - front somewhere
I like the sound of the rollbar. Gonna have a lot of time on my hands so I'll disconnect and see what happens.
I'll update in a few days
Thanks

Mega creaking noise - front somewhere
Hi chaps, This one is doing my head in now. There is a loud creaking noise when the front suspension is moving. Being underneath its impossible to pin point. So I went with what I thought it could be. I've replaced bottom tca bushes with polyurethane. Noise still there. I've replaced the nsf top sus...

Re: 4 speed linkage help
Thanks for this.
Is it normal to have a lot of play on the gear stick. 4th gear is on my knee and I've found once in 4th I can sort of hook the lever over like some type of gate which moves the lever away from me. Is this normal? Sorry never driven or been in another van as yet.

4 speed linkage help
Hi folks. Help! The gear selection has been a problem for some time, select 2nd gear then push up to 1st. The box would make a slight crunch but tend to work. You couldn't select 1st immediately. I went to the gear selection box and the 13mm bolt was loose directly under the stick and the linkage le...

Thanks Steve.
So the van can draw cooler air in through the inner wing and not through these bits that are missing.

1.9 WBX air box..... Somethings missing but what?
Hi
I've noticed that I have two plastic elbows with nothing attached to them (where the main air intake pipe goes to the filter)
Does anyone know if I'm missing something like hoses maybe. If so we're do they go if I fit them?
Confused

1st gear selection
Hello Campers! I have read some stuff about gear selection being common on these vans - any advice why 1st gear is near impossible to select. My current method is to select second and then push firmly into first. There are no funny noises only a feeling like pushing against something solid that will...

Analogue clock not working in dash.
Hi,
Had a look in previous posts but cannot find anything which surprises me.
I need advice how to get the old clock ticking again. Is there a common fault I. E. Resister issue?
Any help is appreciated.
