Sorry to revive an old thread, but did machining some material off the alternator mount and adding a spacer fix your issue? I think I have the same problem after replacing my 65Amp alternator with a 90amp. Many thanks.

I call you after linch, but unless the actual arm mount is dead then no need to remove it, it will still be attached to the transverse outrigger so as long as van/chassis is supported and wheel/ hub free and not under load then remove all the metal as per the link i sent and make good by following ...
