Thanks for the information, all very useful. I did have to remove the dashboard to fix the temp/fuel guage. I was going to check all the connections just to make sure one has not come lose. It does seem to be a little to much of a concidence

Thanks for the response AngeloEvs it would seem like there is probably a problem then. If it is the switches does anyone know what colour they would be? I have a 1.9 petrol engine 1986. If it is not the switches then I suppose the pump is probably shagged......

As these things always go, with the help of AngeloEvs :D I managed to fix my fuel and temperature guage. Yeah! Very reassuring to know these work now. We have had ours for about three years and it is great, although pitching it once when it was windy was difficult. The missues has fond memories of see me being dragged across a field with one very big kite!

Finally got round to looking at this again. Wife has had me decorating so had no opptunity. Anyway with the help of my Dad looked at again at the reading and to make sure I was correctly on the nuts. Will give it another go on the readings. The nuts seem tight but will have another go. The coolant light does flash when the ignation is on.

Right got replacement battery and went back to the van. So tested the circuits so from facing the reading on the left side was about 11v the reading on the right was 0. Interestingly when I was testing the left hand side one of the relays in the fuse box was clicking away merrily. Could not find any...

Thanks for the information, I will go and check this later. I took a picture of the fusebox and I definitely missing the 43 Relay. Not sure where to get one of thoses.

Finally had some time to look at the van. And it appears that I do not hae a 43 Relay in position three in fact there is nothing there? Could this be the problem?
