So good day yesterday getting seats sorted with the help of some flexible Ikea chopping boards. Also headrests added to the basic seats with thanks to multisi on the forum. Looks original for an early seat, you could use half inch chip foam between the main padding and the soft outer. VW Busshop.de do the seat base foam for early or swivel seats but so far not the bigger caravelle foam. They also have seat covers and material but it all gets pricey to reupholster a se...

If the cover is ok you could try covering the spring faces with a sheet of canvas hogringed onto the frame to prevent the horse hair falling through and pad the front of the horse hair with upholsterers fleece to replace the cotton waste. That's how i did my beetle seats and they are really comfy C...
