Snapped front hand brake cable. 2WD
So set off for a road trip, hand brake cable sheared off at the equaliser. Not sure but thin garage might have put it on wrong way wound (wasn't really paying full attention when I went under and got the equaliser out) after recent brake job. If they had it'd explain the shear force. Sunday, no GSF....

Relative newbie - engine photos
Just got phone with enough memory for tapatalk so can now easily post a picture or two. Here's the engine in our recently purchased 89 Holdsworth Villa. Recon with about 10k on. Got workshop receipt but it's vague on source, was £2.5k though. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180815/75ed09cb62a96ae...

Re: Engine won’t fire
looks like you have checked pump, and bypassed with fuel to carb, but my 2l Type 4 lump wouldnt fire for unknown reason, all checked fine - was fuel line collapsed. Looked OK, but the pump would suck the line flat inside.

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
Maybe a daft question - but I'll need to bridge the PCB where the resistor was with some connecting wire?

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB
Good to know!
I've got the DOPS. In terms of how it all works is there anything else you need - will read that thread later, but do you need any photos, or multimeter measurements taking or anything to help?

Re: Replacing the dashboard plastic PCB

I am really excited at the prospect of something new for me - soldering, and want to say a huge thanks for all your hard, transparent efforts on the forum and at home putting th...

GSF Sump Plug DG engine
Hi, Changed the oil at the weekend, while the previous owner had been paying for reliable servicing, he'd been topping up with some halfords 5W30. Peace of mind... Popped into GSF for sump washer, took the new plug off the parts shelf the guy assured me was right... assumed would be OK and he knew h...

Re: How do you jack up the vehicle ??
Hi, Just searched jacking in the forum after my bank holiday smoking wheel issue: At the roadside, trying to jack up rear with bilstein jack in jacking point, to see if the rear wheel brake pistons had seized on... - the bilstein jack seemed to give up just a few mm from wheel off the floor, was spi...

As it sounds inevitable - itchyfeet - did you go with SGS? I haven't seen any other choice when browsing around.

Re: 89 Holdsworth Villa 3 - luggage rack drain holes
Cheers, I'll get to a full inspection if it ever stops raining! I'e only had the top up once for a few minutes when buying it - the struts seem to work well but it appears neglected as they are very rusty on the outside. I'll get to replacing them if needed, but if its just cosmetic for now will do ...

89 Holdsworth Villa 3 - luggage rack drain holes
Hi, I'm a newbie... ..now the proud owner of an 89 Holdsworth Villa 3 pop top. When I set off to drive and hit a corner, water pours down the driver and passenger windows from the luggage rack. I can see there are some drain holes, appear to be blocked with mush... question is - where should they dr...
