Re: Hightop seal
Hi kentishvanman, Thanks for the reply, I came to your conclusion last night after what seemed like days (couple of hours) searching! I’ve gone for the closest match I could find and its only Out by a couple of mm so hopefully do the job. I only had one rivet left the rest had rusted away :D I’m gla...

Hightop seal
Hi,
I’m having trouble finding this seal it goes at the back of the hightop above the tailgate I’ve tried seals direct and had no joy. It’s an autosleeper if that makes a difference?

Re: Best wax for winter storage
+1 for the Autoglym. Done mine yesterday while the mrs took the car through an auto wash. When they were sat on the drive next to each other I’ll admit the car looked slightly more shiny (could just be the colour) but when I looked out of the window this morning after rain the car looks wet where as...

Re: LPG and engine deteriation caused failed big end bearing
My vans not lpg’ed (yet) but we have forklifts at work that have been running fine on lpg for the last fifteen years at least (Passat engines I believe) they are serviced regularly which probably helps, but definitely no engine failures at all. Off topic, they replaced two gassed for electric and th...

I realise you said life was getting in the way in August but it’s almost the end of the month and I’m itching for the next instalment! So just a friendly bump back to the top of the page so you don’t have to go scrolling down to find it

Re: Gearbox oil (again)
This is what Aidan wrote when I thought I had overfilled my gearbox. A bit overfull will do no harm, if you park nose down you may get a weep from the breather hole so the front of the box will get oily VW reduced the fill level of the petrol 2wd box for a smoother shift but that exposes the crown a...

Re: Shurflo pumps
Well, I ordered the pump that I said I would the same day I said it but I’ve only just got around to fitting it this morning, I assume it’s the same/similar as the one ajsimmo has its 20 psi and cost me £50. It’s so much better, more pressure at the tap (obviously) but the best bit is it’s practicall...

Re: Fitting ARB Awning from CVC
No worries,I’d say crack on and have a beer :) the ARB has been great for us, saved many a bbq when the weather has turned. Seems to handle wind well when the poles and guide ropes are pegged out and not used with a side piece. We bought a side for it and tbh the only time we used we had a gust of w...

Re: Fitting ARB Awning from CVC
Finally stopped raining! The bracket does touch the gutter edge just like in the diagram Mocki provided. It’s solid enough for me to hang off I’m 13stone. Just eyed down the gutter edge and it’s exactly the same as the other side. So definitely no damage after two years.

Re: Fitting ARB Awning from CVC
Not sure now, I’ll go and check when it stops raining and I can get away from work for 5mins. As I said Jed from CVC fitted mine the same as it was fitted on his van so would like to think it’s how it’s supposed to be, but I’ll check. It’s been on two years now so if there was a problem I would have...
