Re: Early DG conversion to 2.1 DJ spec

I think if it were me I'd just fit a T piece to the low pressure switch hole if you need a buzzer switch. Oil pressure should be 2bar at 80decC 2000 rpm at the low pressure switch but if it falls below 0.9 bar at 2000rpm ( grey switch) really hot at 110+deg C oil then I think you have problems anywa...

Yes early case. Sorry I can't see how you can guarantee no swarf in gallery so i''d say only on a rebuild.

Re: Early DG conversion to 2.1 DJ spec

How difficult or easy is it to add the second oil switch below water pump on an early DG1900 block? Is it really just drilling an appropriate size hole through the case then adding a thread using correct size tap to suit the oil switch thread? Yes possible, 123-jn did it on this early case he made ...

Re: Replacing fuel (petrol) hose from injector rail to injector

Nobody knows how Bosch fitted the hose they may have used some process to bond it but general common sense says fit a hose clip. I can't believe you are bothering arguing about it. Don't fit one if you don't want to but please don't promote such bad practice as others may copy you. you may not find ...

Re: Replacing fuel (petrol) hose from injector rail to injector

I think you would be mad not to fit a fuel clip. I'd take those bits of metal off or the clip won't fit well.

Re: Replacing fuel (petrol) hose from injector rail to injector

you may need to cut the hose as spigot is barbed , just be careful not to score the spigot too much it's aluminium so cut gently repeatedly so you cut just a bit at a time.

Re: Replacing fuel (petrol) hose from injector rail to injector

cut the metal ring off with wire cutters and the pipe pulls off. then use standard fuel pipe clips. it's just a barbed spigot underneath.

Re: Did Vw Line bore there own stamped DJ rebuilds?

What is the gauge and sender. electric gauges can be inaccurate. better to fit a wet gauge and repeat.
Does sound like it needs a rebuild.
