Splashbacks work well and are thin/lightweight.

seats (again)
I have been offered a pair of mint MX5 seats. Has anyone fitted these to their van? They look very low profile so getting feet on the pedals shouldn't be an issue (I'm 6'2 so I dont reckon any seat would be an issue).

Bumper width
I'm at work (vanless) and need the width of the front or rear bumper. Is anyone online who can pop out and do a quick check on their van for me???

lining carpet
Hi peeps, the Blunderbus is almost at the point of lining it with carpet and I dont know what colour to line it with. My first van was silver grey lined, which made for a light interior, but marked easily. I quite fancy something darker, anthracite maybe, but wonder if that will be too dark and make...

Re: 2.1 DJ overfuelling
thought I would update this thread. Problem solved - it was the coolant sensor. Someone in the vans past had swapped the temp gauge and ECU temp senders position, so I ended up swapping out the temp gauge (non-functioning) sender :run . My mechanic measured resistance cos someone added the series/ p...

Re: 2.1 DJ overfuelling
Brand spanking new TCI unit arrived toady from Wunderdartz in Donny. It claims to be a replacement for 191 905 351 B, it has the same shape alu baseplate and the connector is the same. Fitted it and van cranks but doesnt start. Put old TCI unit on, van starts straight up. Swap them back over - nothi...

Re: 2.1 DJ overfuelling
but have you checked the wiring between it and the ECU? Make sure you're getting the right resistances through. The mechanic told me that he had buzzed out the harness at the ECU, but he failed to spot that the "terminal oil leak" was the low pressure sender which had cracked over the win...

Re: 2.1 DJ overfuelling
My DJ overfuled to the point of a hydraulic lock!!!! Turned out to be the ECU had had a terminal moment of madness ... CJ at syncrospares had one on the shelf and with the help of a big wrench a bucket and a few hours it was sweet as again....... But ohh maaan the smoke as we left the garage for th...

Re: 2.1 DJ overfuelling
New coil fitted - no difference. Fine for 5 minutes then splutters, revs drop, black smoke, cough and die.
TCI unit next - the one in the van is a Telefunken unit (part # 191 905 351 B) with a date stamp of 89, so probably original.

Re: 2.1 DJ overfuelling
Will this fit? Thought that trying a second hand one first to see if it cures the problem might be a better option....

Re: 2.1 DJ overfuelling
Today, I have replaced the temp II sender (nice and easy to get to isn't it??), replaced the engine earth with some serious braid, checked the AFM (fine, nothing odd), cleaned the idle control valave with carb cleaner, replaced about 200 litres of coolant due to the old gasket staying in the thermos...

Re: 2.1 DJ overfuelling
I'd be checking the TCi unit, but first I'd check the vacuum hoses to the disi and the fuel regulator, if they are leaking then timing will go out and fuel pressure will be max'd out and will over fuel and I'd check that the spigot the vac hose plug onto in the plenum chamber is clear by reaming it...
