Harwich - Esbjerg is now the only ferry route to take tourist-type vehicles to Scandinavia from the UK. You could then do Hirtshals to Kristiansand to get to Norway. Usual story though - big cost = big time saving. (This year and in 2008 we whizzed thro the Chunnel and crossed from Denmark to Swede...

Thanks for the help guys. It makes sense now, I had a garage give it a winter service and he changed the oil filter and oil as part of it. I have all gears fine, my knuckles are starting to heal but its just a little tight going from 5th down. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
