New paintwork, bodywork and pop top

I've kept this very quiet on 80 - 90 but it's more known on JK and Brick - Yard. For around a year we were booting around this Westy Joker 1, picked up for £4000 [IMG:800:600]http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k195/goblin92/PICT0184copy2.jpg[/img] after spending around 3 months with stefan, john and ...

Best bodywork everytime. As Westy.Club.Joker said, it's just basically nuts and bolts. We got lucky because ours has brilliant mechanics and the bodywork isn't too bad (which is why it's spending the next few weeks at a VW bodyshop having some work done  ). Unfortunately I can't get any pics of...

We managed to break down collecting the van. My dad had been away in india on business (he's changed job since then fortunately) so he didn't have his mobile, and when we went to collect the van, it was low on fuel so we went to fill it up. Once filled, turn the key...nothing happens. As sods law de...

We've got those led lights that you can get at B&Q and Ikea for a few quid, they like a circle of 3 leds, you press the lense and they turn on. They're brilliant but the scotch pads on the back are crap, but since you'll have to take em off to change the batteries, we use velcro.

Well our van is a westy joker that WAS a pop - top, it has the flat bed and currently has an EMC hightop on it. We've decided that the hi top is more inconvenient do to fuel economy, noise, car parks, and we want to get a westy pop top put back on it. How easy is it likely to be?

Yeah but its getting the water to the tank, no driveway :( How big is a tank? Cheers, I might have to give it a miss using the water tank. Got no way of flushing the solution through. Will get some anyway. Can't you put the solution in, fill with water, drain water and solution through the drain pl...

Can't you put the solution in, fill with water, drain water and solution through the drain plug under the van and then flush clean water through?

Sunncamp dayroom is really good. More like a gazebo with space and windows so you can park next to it and then drive off without pissing about with anything. It's bomb proof and to put it up its 2 poles across the roof, 4 poles into each roof pole end, clip the materially bit to the poles, peg the g...

Hmmmmmmm, just spoken to a (quality) engineer about the issue, and he said that it shouldn't be a problem. If fitted correctly, the seats should strengthen the base again and bolt holes will only flex and crack, if they have not been bolted down tightly enough. He says we'll see what comes up on MOT...

Thanks, will get it sorted ASAP. It may be a case of MOT man finds it bearing in mind it's going to a VW specialist, so since we're off on holiday in it on Sunday, we're basically saying any thing that is found that fails it's MOT, just sort it.

No he didn't. Took original seats out, grind rails off, drill hole, bolt seats in using washers and 4 M8 bolts with nyloc nuts. Even more concerned now bearing in mind MOT is next week. Wednesday I think but van is going in on Monday.

Cool, thanks for that. Had a look on fleabay and there isn't really much going at the moment that aren't at a silly price. Will ring TK autos at some point and see what they can offer...or break into my friends Saab 9-5 tonight

Just out of interest, how much would a pair of 9000 leathers (preferably brown) be likely to cost me, well, dad?

Probably 900 / 9000 seats. We have a Saab Breaker ( TK autos) just up the road from us.
