Noisy Power Steering

Haven't used my westy for a while. Started it up and power steering is noisy. Never had this problen before. Had a new power steering rack fitted about two & half years ago. Is the fluid low? If so, where do I top it up?

Any suggestions please? Thanks in advance :ok

Re: Subject changed. Glow plug strip fuse blowing - help!

Electrical fault now found and my van is rolling again :ok It was the glow plug relay that was causing the 50 amp strip fuse to fry. Bought a new glow plug relay from GSF and everything is now fine :D

Many thanks to Oldiebut goodie and weldore for their help :ok

Re: Replacing handbrake mechanism

Did a repair on my front cable as I snapped it at the adjusting nut & threads whilst trying to adjust the damn thing and then discovered it was obsolete :x . Cut a 5mm thread on it and joined it together with a piece of 5mm threaded rod and a threaded rod coupling plus a couple of locking nuts e...

Re: Subject changed. Glow plug strip fuse blowing - help!

It may be worth removing the wire from the first plug to see if it is one of the plugs that is causing the short when you get some more fuses, if it still blows you know that the short is in the wiring between the fuse and glow plugs. I bet gsf fuses were a lot more expensive than the ebay ones.(ma...

Re: Have I burnt the coil out?

It's only a sort distance from the fuse to the glow plugs it should be easy to trace, check that the copper linking the plugs hasn't got anything dropped onto it where there is no insulation. Hi Oldiebut goodie. Thanks for coming to my aid again. I've inspected the wiring to see if there's any bare...

Re: Have I burnt the coil out?

Trying to sort a short circuit out on my side lights & headlights and had the ignition switched on for a while. My diesel westy usually starts first time but now the engine just turns over and doesn't fire up. Any ideas regarding why? Could it be that I've burned the coil out? Any suggestions wo...

Derusting & painting underneath of van advice

Was thinking of wire brushing/treating/painting various spots of minor surface rust underneath my westy atlantic before it gets any worse. What I want to know is should I leave certain parts of the underneath of the chassis untouched? Don't really want to fall foul of MOT tester who I'm concerned mi...

Re: lost keys' allmost sorted but my back door is still locked

If the barrel is worn you might be able to get it open with one of the other keys you have. Spray some WD40 into the barrel. Insert a key into the lock and try to turn it without any real force (don't snap it off  ) and wiggling the key at the same time.
