I fitted a switch bought from halfwits for about £3 and as long as I remember to...

cold shower
At the moment I have an inbuilt shower in the van. To use it you roll yourself up into a small ball, squeeze into the passenger footwell and just wait for the rain.
I am thinking about getting rid of it though

Hello all, Plugged the fridge into the mains for about 4 hours on saturday to get the thing cold before setting of for the bank holiday. Switched the fridge to battery during the drive (about an hour) with a ten minute stop at tescos for the essentials (beer, wine, cheese, wine, beer, bread, beer an...

night light
I have just spent £2 at my local "mr cheep" £1 shop and bought two of those little solar powered garden lights. I leave them in the van window facing the sun to charge up and at night it gives of a nice faint glow which is just enough light to find your way to the loo in the night without ...

Never done this and have no expertise but could you remove the old sump plug by drilling out and then...... 1. get an old sump from a scrappy (anything would do as long as the sump plug looked in good nick) 2. cut out a section from the scrappy's sump about 4-6 inch square with the sump plug in the ...

In light hammy44's REDEX suggestion, I was told a few years back that just about any old oil, is just as effective at cleaning carbs and spark plugs as REDEX and a whole lot cheaper. Seems to work for me. Is it actually at low speeds or at low revs? does it tick over steady at low revs or is it a bi...

Splendiferous sound advice but not 100% correct IMO. The figures of 85% and 50% I have heard before, but DVLA and the department of transport both told me that these sorts of figures are often used by the public but are not the official answer. about 3 years ago I was informed by our transport offic...

Just a suggestion as a completely temporary fix to get you to chester...remove the door card. get a piece of tiber 2x3 or 4x4 sort of dimensions and about 18-24 inches longer than the door and put it in the van. shut the door and get some one to push it closed from the outside while you lash it to t...

Firstly ensure you have plenty of savlon for the grazed knuckles. Penetron or Plusgass are far better than WD40. The key is to crack the oxidation sealing the thread. Give it a few sharp taps with a hammer (on the flat of the nut not the end of the thread) you might have to hold a screw driver or to...

Cheers peeps, ER yes, fire does sound like a bad thing. :( So I won't be sorting the body work out this summer then. Just had a quick look and it would seem i will need to remove: the bed, all of the cupboards, fridge, cooker, the lining (from below the near side rear window), possibly the rear seat...
