If you go up past the prison, there is a 'wild' area where you could park up. We walked around it last time we were there and there was evidence of 'parties' and other goings on. Totally your choice. We were staying at East Fleet Farm, on recommendation from Kev the rev, where we met 4 other members...

Between Looe and Polperro : Westwayland Caravan and Touring park. Very clean and cheap, and friendly owners.
Fox & Hounds Inn between A30 and Tavistock. £6.50 per night, £9 with hook-up. Excellent food and menu varied. Very friendly site.

We used a dishwasher tablet mashed into a solution with water, about 1lt. Worked a treat.

We had a very similar experience at Honiton, at the BP station coming back from a meet. We have an 80 litre tank, will take 65-68 lts to fill.
