gas check
Hi, I'm slowly putting our van in order for the summer (wherever it's gone!). I got a local mobile caravan guy who came to the house and pressure tested the system. I had no documentation. I think if you are in any doubt (it sounds like you haven't had it long) I'd get it tested. better than blowing...

removing a turbo
Is there anything I need to think about when removing a turbo from a 1.6TD? Is it just a case of removing the oil feed and undoing the bolts? It appears to have bolts on the back which are paired by curved plates (you'll know what I mean if you have ever looked!)
Is this all that holds it in place?

exhaust welded to turbo (literally!)
the previous owner saw fit to weld the exhaust to the turbo studs when they did a repair job on the exhaust pipe flange. What's best to do with that? I can't see a way of working on it under the van so I'm thinking remove the turbo, grind, saw, drill to remove the exhaust, then think about a way of ...

Injector spill pipes 1.6td
Does anyone know the size of the fuel pipes which connect the injectors on a 1.6td? the smallest hose JustKampers have is 3.5mm, but I have in my mind that it's 3.2mm? any comments? Also, do people have fuel hose clips on these? mine doesn't have any.

what is this
Dumb question, but what is this?[img:188:250]http://www.blue2design.com/images/matt/13052008215.jpg[/img]
The level is below minimum and I thought I'd better check what to fill it with before I top it up!

sleeping up top
room for a small one up top? does anyone know what the weight limit is for sleeping up top in a westy? (pop-top if it makes a difference). We're not exactly a big couple and obviously it's designed to take two adults but I thought I should check!

how do I prime fuel pump (1.6TD)
I've had my injector pipes off to replace the glow plugs (handy having long skinny fingers). Now it won't start. Because there's air in the system I've been told to crack a couple of the pipes open and keep turning it over to pull the fuel through. I did that last night until the battery drained fla...

hideous cloud on start up!
My wonderful 'new' van produces a large “James Bond"| style white cloud when I start from cold. I really don't have the money to replace the engine at the moment so I was wondering if anyone can offer advice? It's a 1.6td with unknown mileage. It runs really nicely, pulls well and doesn't smoke...

THE BUDGET - CAR TAX INCREASE
Does anyone have an MOT emissions slip handy? In the budget there's a new top band for the most polluting vehicles that emit more than 255g of carbon dioxide per kilometre. Does that affect us?
And while I'm here, do you get lower emissions burning veg oil?

wiring diagram
I couldn't see anything on the Wiki. Is there a definitive Westy cooker block wiring diagram anywhere (does such a thing exist?). I've just been behind the units on mine and it's a bit confusing. there seem to be a couple of connectors which don't connect to anything, and some very dodgy wiring from...
