If its done it for ages, then its prob perished pipes etc.. get it sorted, new breather pipes and fill breather and a filler neck rubber.. new fuel line rubber components.. check the pipes in the engine bay too.. what he says..... :ok Had exactly the same with ours in Serbia last summer..... :D cha...

thanks guys, decided to get the calipers off this morning and use the vice, drill, anything route to get the nipples out. Turnsout the drivers side caliper is cracked around the lowermounting bolt hole and was essentially being held on by one bolt! so thats knackered then. at least i dont need to bo...

Havin' trouble with me nipples.....
The Van failed the MOT for having corroded brake pipes. Thats it, nothing else, so I was quite impressed. So, under the van I go later that night with a torch. Every main pipe you could see had the MOT testers 'chalk of doom' mark on it. Oh well, get on with taking them off. What a bloody nightmare!...

just a thought but one thing I learned from my landrovering days is that if you do have a small front end prang with a bull bar the mountings are usually the first thing to bend (it's physics innit, fulcrum point and all that) so the great big, steel bull bar gets pushed into the front of said vehic...

em, No I have never driven a 2.1 but glad I have bought it now looking at the comments in favour of it. OK, sounds much more straightforward just to take the intake manifold / carb off the 1.9 and bolt on to the 2.1. Think i'll do a compression test on the 2.1 before it goes in just in case. sorted!...
