Water Pump woes should be t3convert not t25convert
Have done as much tightening and loosening of water pump bolts (with loads of PlusGas) as I can without busting either the Allen Key or mashing up the bolt. Am resolved to get a quote from a garage. Can anyone recommend a seriously good mechanic for this stupidly awkward job, near Newhaven, East Su...

Re: Water pump woes
Thanks for all your tips. I thought it was going to be a simple job but it looks as if I'm going to have to remove the pulley and put the whole lot in the vice. I'll try some more rocking backwards and forwards with Plusgas first.

Water pump woes
I'm trying to remove (and replace) my seized water pump but the lower Allen key bolts are completely stuck.
Has anyone else had this problem (1987 T3 1.9 later water pump) and how did they solve it?

Re: Propex Heater
to 937carrera Sorry not to have got back to you sooner. I emailed the guy at Propex who deals with the manuals etc. but as he still hadn't got back to me I phoned them up (he's been very busy lately) but he should be getting back to me soon. Meanwhile the guy who fixed my heater (Martin) explained t...

Re: Propex Heater
to 937carrera Sorry. I completely forgot to ask for a manual for that model. Maybe I can text Martin and ask him if there is one. The first manual you recommended was the closest. The later model Heatsource 1600 is different. Not sure if I told you that an extra live wire has to be attached to the b...

You did your best. There were just too many variables to consider: the wiring of the van, the thermostat and the heater box itself. But we got there in the end. It actually cost me 20 quid less because I included the cost of the flexible exhaust tubing. Many thanks

Re: Propex Heater
to 937 carrera, steve9007 and OBG Got back from Ringwood OK despite being delayed by a nasty looking crash. That M27 gets pretty packed during rush hour. Martin from Propex sorted me out. Basically the burner was completely corroded, the igniter and spark electrode had packed up altogether and the t...

Decent make of starter motor with a solenoid that works
Can anyone recommend a decent make of starter motor with a reliable solenoid for a 1987 1.9 Petrol Autosleeper. Unbelievably this is the second starter motor I've bought (it's hardly been used) but it's as bad as the one I replaced. I'm getting fed up with constantly having to take the bed out to ge...

Certainly.
I'm taking the unit and stat in to Propex at Ringwood first thing Monday and I should have an answer by the end of the day.
Hope it's an easy fix.
Will let you know.

Thanks so much. Propex guy says they'll be happy to check over my heater provided I bring in the stat aswell. I'm working out when I can fit in a time to go. All the best.

Re: Propex Heater
to 937 carrera, Having read the conclusion of the article you just sent me from vandogtraveller I'm more of a mind to have it serviced by Propex instead of tackling it myself. I realize it will cost money but I think I will be messing around with it all summer rather than actually going places in th...

Re: Propex Heater
To 937carrera I contacted Propex and a nice guy in the tech dept(Martin) told me that the wiring was wrong and that the battery +ve terminal on the thermostat should have a separate wire to the orange going into the heater. I wired it up accordingly but the result is the same i.e. 2 clicks but nothi...

Re: Propex Heater
to 937carrera Have re-attached up the heater box, switched on the gas and turned on the thermostat. Interesting things started happening. When I switched the thermostat to 7 nothing happened at first but then I accidentally touched the other bulb and a green light came on aswell as the red light. It...

Now I know that the fan moves freely how can I simply test it to see if it works before wiring it up to the van ?
