Re: Some electrical draw measurements..

How did you carry out the test Lloydy? I disconnected the earth from the battery and attached my ammeter to the earth cable and earth post on battery. Let the reading settle for 30secs-60secs and then read what figure you have. You'll need a multimeter with a amp setting to do this. cheers :ok

Re: installing solar power in a westy

I'm convinced that the majority of the MPPT controllers on eBay are just bog standard solar regulator with MTTP printed on the box . Re: installing solar power in a westy

Max output of a 100w panel ( when using all it's 100watts) is quoted at 5.18 amps.

Just saying

Re: Solar panel on roof

Thanks for the link, i would like to have one fixed to the van permanently but can only get a 50w one on it. Would you think 50w would be of any use? Thanks G You'd probably ( almost certainly) get less than an amp an hour in winter so it depends on when and how you use your van.It would keep your ...

Cheers

The controller and panels you linked to will do the job fine the controller is just not a MPPT, not that you really need one for a single panel

Sorry it's not a direct link, I'm on my phone in work and it's hard to do the links :)
G

I very much doubt this will be a MPPT controller despite what it claims. It will be a normal regulator.

I've got mine stuck down with Sikaflex, been on for a couple of years without problem. I wouldn't drill any more holes than necessary
