Re: 12v trojan battery
http://www.trojanbattery.com/pdf/TRJN0111_ProdSpecGuide.pdf if you scroll down there's a lot of information regarding trojan AH battery spec So if we take the battery linked to in this post ,a 24TMX, it is being sold as a 105ah but if you look at the tech sheet it is only 85ah at 20hr rating. The 1...

Re: 12v trojan battery
Nope it depends on the standard rating that is used, 20 hour, 8 hour rate etc. A 100 ah battery rated at 8 hour has a larger capacity than a 100 ah battery rated at 20 hour. Problem is most makes of battery fail to tell what rating they have used. I can only find one brand which tells you which the...

Re: Solar panel (bad timing)
20A MPPT controller is £8 or so - like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-10-15-20-30A-MPPT-Solar-Panel-Battery-Regulator-Charge-Controller-Auto-Switch-/290984828658?pt=UK_Gadgets&var=&hash=item43c00c1ef2 I'm pretty sure that is just a solar regulator not a MPPT controller despite what the ad...

Re: Maybe caving in and buying a Waeco CR 50
Tom, its highly possible they might have been duff when you bought them. If batteries have been laying around for a long time on a shelf somewhere not being charged then they will most likely be dead. You could well have fallen foul of this without realising, quite naturally when you purchase a new...

Re: 100w Flexible Solar Panel
It stands for Maximun Power Point Tracking. There an explanation on how it works on the site linked to below.
There's also a couple of good demo's on youtube.

Re: 100w Flexible Solar Panel
Hmmm, missed the opportunity to talk to Ian Hulley about solar panels at Busfest... Has anyone got the LCD screen on their controller? Is it worth getting that option? Cheers, Ringo There one on my MPPT controller, worth it just to see how many (or few!) amps are actually going back into your batte...

Re: caravan solar panel kits - whats the verdict???
May as well get a 100w as there the same physical size as a 80w panel. A 20amp controller will give you the option of fitting another 100w panel at a later date.

That's similar to the one I have (Sevylor voyager) its ok for messing on rivers and lakes but the sea needs to be pretty calm to be able to use it.
