Re: New Bumpers
I have a chrome rear from custom and commercial,ok quality, fitted fine but a little wavy along the top edge, brought it before a few price increases, not sure i'd pay what they cost now.

Re: Elevating roof toggles
Hi, I fitted some identical ones to the ones listed by JK but i think they're actually bonnet catches and the rubber started splitting under the tension of the fastened roof almost straight away.Found them really unsuitable for the job but guess some will say they've used em no probs!I bought some a...

Re: Newbie needs some help getting her started.
Hi, Just a thought, have you removed and cleaned the small conical gauze filter. If you remove the fuel line at the point where it enters the carb, the filter is in the carb itsself and can be removed with a small pick, tweezers or the like.I did mine and it was almost completely choked with deposits.M...

Hi,
Sounds like they're getting over tightened.
Torque settings are for dry threads, shouldn't grease the thread as it will only give a false torque reading.

Re: Exterior vent screws
Hi,
if the screws aren't case hardened you can drill the heads off, remove the old, vent then i would undo the screw stubs by grabbing with side cutters/mould grips or such like.

Re: Removal of Washer Jets
Hi, I had the same problem removing mine,i think they should turn as you say 45 degrees but i guess overspray and dirt makes life awkward.I guess if you grabbed em with some pliers in a rag to keep damage to a minimum you might do it.There are 2 little lugs either side (fiddling tiny bits of plastic...

Re: Battery - Can't get it out! Help
Hi there, You are gonna need to remove the rotating seat base unfortunately but its dead easy.First turn your seat 90 degrees and slide it forward.I am assuming it's a genuine vw rotating base so at the rear of the runners the last bits are knocked flat (thats all that stops your seat from sliding r...

Hi, I had exactly the same problem up until recently, would cut out as you slowed down at junctions, traffic etc.Seems to be common Pierberg carb probs.I purchased a carb service kit and a couple of hours of cleaning with compressed air and carb cleaner (float chamber was well gunked up)van runs an ab...

Auto sleeper roof
Hi, You shouldn't have any probs at all,i have done exactly the same on my own van.It helps if you can take some measurements of the hole size and exact position from the van the roof is coming off. They are heavyish but it's a 4 person job anyway,1 on each corner to position on your van, large amoun...
