Re: Radius Rod crossmember damage.

Someone on t'other forum has kindly furnished me with a part number

251 803 665 cross member is still available new from vw classic parts (Thanks Mr Talbot!)

I've emailed Bjoern directly.

I'm also told on the same post, that the measurements are in the Bentley Manual, so I'm off to find a copy.

Radius Rod crossmember damage.

 Ive had my van for ages, but it's been sat idle and off the road for various reasons. This year, I've decided I want it ready for next summer so I can get some pleasure out the damn thing again, as of all the vehicles I've owned, this is the one I've loved and missed using the most. It's an 83...

Tanks are different.

what are the torque/bhp figures of the 1.6D (not turbo)? anyone know?

At the moment I think it's doing about 4krpm at 60 mph!, hence looking at taller rubber, but at the same time, I don't want to make it un-drivable.

Where does the 1Y make it's torque from?, what's the peak bhp?

1Y.. is it worth it?

I'm picking up a Danbury with a 1.6D fitted at weekend :) Rough as a badgers backside, but all there and all right. Thing is, the 1.6D is slooooow Is the 1Y the solution here?, or should I be looking at TD engines.. from what I gather this means a TD gearbox as well, which doesn't come in cheap. Ide...
