AAZ Conversion
I have experienced the same problems albeit with a Seat Ibiza doner engine. I used the AAZ turbo but with the JX manifold. You can relieve the ports slightly at the corners to help gas flow without compromising wall thickness. Lose the EGR and air dump valve. Change the throttle lever over to the or...

Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement _Advice please
Am in the process of replacing rear wheel bearings and am also replacing wheel cylinders because of the usual sheared bleed valve problem at the same time. Two questions 1 There appears to be play between the male/female splines on the axle shafts so much so I was able to draw them apart by hand wit...

The alternator on my 1.9td has run its bearings , as scrap T3 s in this area
(North Lincolnshire) are thin on the ground what other vehicles run a similar JX type alternator (if any)?

AAZ fast tickover
Thanks for the advice, I have managed to reduce tickover marginally.
As economy is good ( 37mpg overall) I am reluctant to attempt trial and error adjustment. In any event I am not sure which is the actual screw.
Many Thanks

AAZ fast tickover
This is an outstanding problem on my AAZ coversion. I recon the engine is ticking over at 1000 - 1500 revs (no rev counter) Am doing more local short journeys now and problem is more apparent. The throttle actuating lever is at the limit of travel with the stop slackened off What other adjustment op...

Diesel Engine Mountings
Hi guys, My JX to AAZ conversion running well if a little slow but compensated by the 41 Plus MPG. Outstanding problem is clutch judder in 1st & 2nd when pulling away on an incline. Clutch replaced on old JX engine shortly before it blew, so did not replace when transfering to AZZ. Also used exi...

Magnum, the two stage throttle consisted of two interconnected coil springs one on top of the other on the throttle spindle. The only purpose I could determine was to give the impression of much more throttle travel than was actually available. ie to give a better throttle feel. Will try and get my ...

I'm a little late picking up on this problem , however for what its worth, I have experienced the same problem with lack of throttle travel with my ex Ebiza AAZ conversion. This had a two stage throttle opening lever which I totally discarded including the strong return spring. I then used the JX le...

JX to seat conversion - Throttle linkage
Thanks Simon And HarryMann for the replies. I had suspected that this second stage throttle opening was purely cosmetic but not having dealt with diesels before was not confident of scrapping the Seat system. Following your advice have now removed all the junk including the damper , fabricated a new...

JX to Seat AAZ Throttle Problem
Thanks for the reply Diamond
Have considered increasing length of throttle pedal lever but put it
off because of difficulty in accessing .
Will have to wait to post a pic until the daughter returns from Uni.

JX to Seat AAZ conversion - Throttle linkage problem
Conversion completed with MOT and on the road. Project fairly straightforward apart from reindexing of AAZ Turbo which I was forced to use because JX turbo clapped. Note to others using AAZ turbo the two halves are interference fit and you need lots of heat. Performance at present is not as good as ...
