Re: wiggly 'lazy T' fridge flue...
thanks! nice to know I'm not the only one with a wiggle  the brown stain day approaches fast - I'm not going to be drinking any coffee that morning. Was thinking of getting a CO alarm as well as am a bit paranoid about the gas, so will go and buy one, and then crack open the beers! ta for repl...

wiggly 'lazy T' fridge flue...
Hi - hope someone might be able to help... I've finally found a fridge (two-way electrolux 122 - i guess rm122f) with days to spare before we take off in the van for 3 weeks, and am hoping to install it this weekend. The only thing is that the top of the pipe which i guess must be the 'lazy t' (flue...

Re: 2-way fridge run from 240v by external transformer?
thanks again all - and SteveW - as I thought, I do need to vent the exhaust gases so thank you v much for advice. I'd already started to think about getting professional help, so will def do so now. There's no point in mucking about with it. It does strike me as a bit weird that you need Corgi regis...

Re: 2-way fridge run from 240v by external transformer?
eh? do you mean the CO can vent out the bottom? sorry if I'm being dense... I figured this wouldn't be good enough and that it'd have to go straight out the side... but then CO is heavier than air, right, so should fall out? sorry, confused... how exactly do I need to vent in order not to die?

Re: 2-way fridge run from 240v by external transformer?
oh... so I may not have to hack about at my bodywork? brilliant! It's a bit weird as my van has the usual unit with sink, hob and so on - including the grille in the bottom of the van for the sink waste and any gas to fall out of but it doesn't seem to have ever had a fridge, so I'm having to figure...

Re: Pierburg or Solex? Confused!
thanks for the tips everyone! I did try Gower & Lee, and their kit was cheapest by a long chalk but the guy at Carburettor Hospital was adamant that his Solex kit was the business. still confused... also... I think it's probably the spindle problem with mine as well (as JasonK says) but heard th...

Re: 2-way fridge run from 240v by external transformer?
thanks very much everyone - and esp SteveW for your tip about the noise of the fan / power units heating up etc. and tonytech for the point about thermostats - stuff I hadn't known / considered. It sounds like the amount of faff (and extra boxes of kit in the van) will outweigh any benefits, so I th...

Pierburg or Solex? Confused!
Hi - are Pierburg and Solex one and the same? I need to get carb repair kits for the carbs on my Aircooled T25 (2 ltr) and as far as I know, they're Solex 34 PDSITs - says so in the Haynes manual and they have SOLEX written on them... but I've seen that other people have talked about Pierburg carbs ...

2-way fridge run from 240v by external transformer?
Hi - wonder if anyone can help... I've been looking for a three-way fridge for my camper but they're more expensive and less available than two-way versions, of course. I want to use hook-up when at sites which offer it (gas at those that don't) and then 12v to charge off main battery when on the ro...
