Plastic Wheel Trims
Can anyone recommend a supplier/source of some suitable non VW plastic wheel trims to cover standard 14 inch steel wheels please,we're off to mainland europe shortly and i'm really not keen on leaving my stainless baby moons on for this trip to marbella and cadiz.
Thanks

Re: VW T25 Loss of Power and Potential Miss Fire? Help Stuck in Italy!
Ignition timing slipped maybe,if securing bolt loose rotor will allow dist body to drift towards retarded ignition, that causes lower power and misfire opening throttle.
Worth a check of static timing setting to get you going.

Re: 1.9 suddenly leaking oil
The signs are pretty certain that the main seal has failed due to age hardening, engine and box out,and once the box is away from the engine ,firstly and most importantly before removing fly wheel from crank ,check and make a note of the end float measurement ,then remove flywheel, replace seal and al...

The pierburg was never theirs to keep, unless they took it in part payment with your agreement ,i return ALL parts removed from every job my workshop undertakes, even damaged parts are returned for customers perusal and disposal.
I would be having a word.

Re: Adjusted tappets, now won't start!
Ok locate the petrol feed pipe to the carb ,it comes to the carb from the drivers side of the engine bay, somewhere along that pipe will be a cube ,about 30mm square, with 2 fuel pipes (in/out) and a pair of wires ,one earth ,one live feed ,(from changeover switch on your dashboard in cab). are you on...

Re: Adjusted tappets, now won't start!
I really am suspicious of your fuel (petrol) cut off relay being faulty ,or its wiring feed, can you test it without engine running ,but ignition switched on,,get an assistant switching over from gas to petrol whilst you are feeling/listening the solenoid for operation ,a dull click sound may also b...

Re: GTi conversion using automatic box
Seemingly nobody has done this conversion ,perhaps the cost of a Kennedy Engineering from the states bellhousing adapter plate and flexplate solution are why, unless someone knows different .

Re: GTi conversion using automatic box
My aim is primarily more bhp thus , potentially much improved mpg , and a far more economic package to maintain . My own experience of parts cost and availability being a big factor ,as,when the two are compared directly. Far more good usable inline 4's available at minimal cost, all 2nd hand wbx v e...

Re: An Engine Rebuild Thread for Beginners
If the gap is on the valve its burnt valve If the gap is on the seat burnt seat or am i missing something ?.. Rick Thats my view. How does a ameteur mechanic recut valve seats? An amatuer can buy a machine like my SERDI ,for around £40k or more ,or perhaps a Neway circa 70k,or take it to a local ma...
