Re: switch fried, replacement sought

Cheers guys very much appreciated.

The carb switch on ebay looks like the right sort of thing but pic looks like it needs some wiring which I don't fancy so maybe a trip up to Chester to Gasure is in order!

switch fried, replacement sought

Hi all, I have an lpg conversion installed by a previous owner. The system operates with a switch on the dash which on the right is gas and left is petrol, with the middle used to run the petrol out of the carb before switching to gas. This morning, the switch threw out some smoke and is clearly kna...

hazard warning lights...MOT looming

Hi all, The hazards have packed up on the van and the mot is due in a couple of weeks, if the idicators are working does this suggest the switch is at fault or could something else be causing the prob? reason for asking being that the horn only works intermittenly (hoping it working coincides with t...

Devon cupboard door replacement

Hi all, I've taken the fridge out of my devon (previous owner butchered it) and now I'm after a cupboard door for the space. Any ideas where I can get hold of the the hinges (they don't seem to sell the right hinge in b&q etc) and the browny melamine stuff that the cupboard is made from?! Cheers...

Re: Not the van its the golf... power loss after cambelt change

Ok maybe I was too quick to judge my 'friendly' local mechanic - he admitted his mistake and corrected it - it was a loose air flow pipe, as suggested above - the pocket rocket is now back to its former glory :P

Thanks for the help, very much appreciated!

Re: Not the van its the golf... power loss after cambelt change

Checked under the bonnet but couldn't see anything loose so back it went this morning so I'm waiting for the mechanic to get back to me - what are the chances of 'sorry about that, it was my fault - no charge?!' I wont be holding my breath :?

Not the van its the golf... power loss after cambelt change

Hi guys, Not a question about the van but given your considerable knowledge hoping you may also have a few suggestions about this prob (it is at least A VW)... Just had my timing belt changed on a mk3 tdi golf and the power has gone completely - seems as though the turbo has stopped working and car ...

Re: Does petrol 'go off'?

Cheers for the info,

Looks like I'll be finding a downhill stretch of motorway, flicking the switch at 60 and hoping for the best!

Didn't even occur to me until the other day - you live and learn!

Does petrol 'go off'?

Hi everyone,
Just a bit concerned about the fuel in the van...

My van runs on LPG, which I have been using all summer but there is £5 worth of petrol thats been sloshing round the tank for 6/7 months now - is the petrol going to be ok to run on after this length of time?

Cheers

I'm off to Cornwall from Manchester in a couple of weeks and I'm plannnig on travelling overnight - does anyone know of a service station or other spot at the end of the M5 where I'll be able to catch more than 2 hours kip without getting clamped?!

Re: Temp light flashes when I use the horn...?!

Cheers for that. Though it might have been something to do with the earth because the water pump buzzes for a few seconds when I switch the stereo on so there's clearly something not quite right!
