Throttle Cable and Lever Length

I installed a new throttle cable and the brickwerks throttle lever this weekend to tidy up my engine bay. (Missing metal clip is on back order with brickwerks). Looks good, but the trouble now is that I don't seem to have enough reach to connect the cable to the lever. Lever adjustment is maxed out,...

Re: Voltage Stabilizer

Aidan sorted me out with a good used original VR and I got it installed this evening. Everything works perfect now. I couldn't for the life of me uninstall the speedo cable though, so I basically had to install the VR blind! Do people sometimes glue these on? I watched a couple of videos on removal ...

Re: Voltage Stabilizer

Cheers Aidan, I think I've found the one's you mentioned on eBay. They certainly look more like the originals.

It is a bit more expensive, but if it means I can install it the correct way up and not need to melt/trim down some mounts, I am tempted.

Re: Voltage Stabilizer

TCA 700Y regulators are available from Germany on Ebay for not too much money I have a pre loved one available Cheers Aidan, what are the TCA 700Y regulators (I'm new to this)? Are they the standard T4 one's? I spoke to Michael at Brickwerks this morning, he said they should have their T4 regulator...

Re: Voltage Stabilizer

Cheers Oldie, would you recommend the LM7810 Voltage Stabilizer then? I know virtually nothing about electronics.

What would you use for heatsink? Brickwerks say something about shaving down the old mounts for original VS so that newer chips fit properly too?

Voltage Stabilizer

My temperature and fuel gauge have just decided to stop working. Everything else seems to be working fine, so I'm assuming it's the voltage stabilizer. I was having a read through some posts (and a couple of youtube videos) regarding the voltage stabilizer. Most (including brickwerrks) say you need ...

Re: License Plate Lights Not Working

Thank you for all this information Robsey. It is much appreciated. I had an hour spare today and tidied up some connections and tried a couple of things (no joy). Wiring is new territory for me, so it could take me a while. I'll keep trying things on your list 👍 My van is an 84, pretty sure it is a ...

License Plate Lights Not Working

Years ago one of my license plate lights went out. It wasn't the bulb so I got a mate who was an electrician to quickly sort it for me before I went away in the van. They've stopped working again now and I've decided to sort out the mess that's back here too. https://i.ibb.co/D7czn3m/IMG-20240316-13...

Re: Installing aftermarket rev counter / tacho into a petrol T25

I can confirm that the dimmer switch does indeed work in the current configuration! That was a nice surprise. Not sure if you can tell in the pictures? Definitely noticeable in person. Re: Installing aftermarket rev counter / tacho into a petrol T25

Tachometer lighting wire is connected to the blue/grey wire on the 14 pin connector.
I will test if the dimmer has any effect tomorrow.

Re: Installing aftermarket rev counter / tacho into a petrol T25

That could be useful. Does it involve tapping into another wire, or do you need to mess with the blue plastic circuit?

I think I'd rather mess the aftermarket tachometer than a 40 year old circuit board.

Re: Installing aftermarket rev counter / tacho into a petrol T25

No worries (Hairy is fine), I'm glad I could finally give back on the forum. Let me know how you get on.

I may make a write up for more diesel owners on here. It turned out to be a pretty simple install, but there isn't a lot of information available.

Re: Installing aftermarket rev counter / tacho into a petrol T25

It's this one. Once you install it, it's called "Bike RPM"

Re: Installing aftermarket rev counter / tacho into a petrol T25

Hi Rob, I've downloaded a few apps. The one I found easiest to use was called "Bike RPM". Set the app to 4 Stroke and 4 Cylinder (or more) and hit "run". Test it with your daily driver 1st to confirm you've got it set up right. https://i.ibb.co/CHfktqg/Screenshot-2024-03-08-11-07...

Re: Tensioner Slipping after Belt (and Tensioner) Change

You might want to re-read the message you quoted David. I've run the van loads of times since and everything seems fine. The tensioner does indeed move around slightly, so I will assume this is normal. Here's it's latest position: https://i.ibb.co/YP75ycx/IMG-20240303-153159.jpg It's almost spot on!...
