having got the unit back I can see that mine turns out to be D3LP. Ive tracked down a mechanic who thinks he can fix this. I hope so.

I don't have the unit at home (its at the dealer in peterborough) thats a bit tricky to talk about colours but is there anything you can send me that i can pass on? When you say fuse out, I assume you mean power disconnected. I did this in the van when it first showed a fault but I did it to check t...

France Calais winter camp sites

I want to find a camp site open 28th december onwards near Calias or St Omer. Dont mind municiple or private but I'm finding it really difficult to get good info off the web. Most sites are shut Oct - April. Anyone got any suggestions. If I could just find a listing of all french municiple sites tha...

Last year i had a similar symptom to yours. Air locks created the problem you describe. On my 1.6TD I would find that once I stopped after a run on idle eg at toll booths etc the engine temp shot up and the red flashing light kicked in. I drove with the heaters on etc to keep temp down. The air lock...

I has this. the sensor terminals may be getting moisture from hair line crack or other fine leaks. Once engine gets hot it evaporates and the circuit opens again, light goes off. See if the terminals are wet at all when engine is cold. If so change sensor.

I replaced my sliding door handle and barrel with new and even when new there is a degree of play in it but nothing as much as you describe. Undo the nut that tightens the handle and put on some thread lock ( loctite do some) which when you do up the nut stops its undoing easily. I assume you know w...

yes. This is the experience I have at traffic lights. Ive become adept at just pressing the throttle a tiny bit to up the rev from lumpy to smooth. If I had rev counter i reckon its another 50 revs. very subtle.

how do you get smoothest idle on 1.6TD?

It may be characteristic of the 1.6Td, and I have experienced it on both engines i've had, that a smooth idle ie not rocking the van, is hard to find and becomes variable depending how hot the engine is. I've no rev counter so i dont know how fast it is idling now but i end up finding it smoother at...
