Re: Rusty cab doors solution?

It wasn't too bad to be honest. It took 2-3 hours from removing the door to being ready to paint. It's a little awkward in places with the curves but I managed it all without any specialist fabrication tools.

Re: Socket Sets

Bought a Halfords advanced set on offer, absolute rubbish. Drives did not fit the sockets, the ball would not move out of the way for the sockets to engage. Gave the set away. I still have the Gordon and Britool sockets from my 1975 moped days, just bought the sizes needed and added to them over th...

Whats a seat squib? I thought squibs were to do with airbags? Not heard of one relating to a seat.

Re: 1.9 cutting out on incline while running

I'd be checking the fuel filter, make sure its fitted properly to ensure there aren't any air leaks. If a garage serviced it pop back in and explain the situation. If it was fine before you can almost guarantee it'll be related.

Re: Upper and lower ball joints late van

When I use to do pre Mot's I'd lever the joint(s) with the weight on the wheel then again with the vehicle jacked up and the suspension drooping as well as feeling for play in the wheel top to bottom and side to side then lever the wheel up a few times with the bar between the ramp and the tyre. Som...

Re: Under-slung gas install

Yeah I'd be happy to do that. I think it's going to be a winter project as I'd have to take the interior out of the van to allow the tank to be bolted through the floor. I don't have an existing gas line as at the moment I just have a gas cylinder in a cupboard and a hose going to the cooker. The ne...

Re: Under-slung gas install

I found these tanks https://www.gasit.co.uk/manual-gas-it-tanks.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which are about the same price as a Westy tank and the 200mm diameter ones come in 4 different capacities.

Re: Under-slung gas install

To be honest Rick I'm leaning the same way, there's two on Ebay both of which are over £200 and a new tank can be had for not much more. I might also get a price for a professional to do a complete fit.

Re: Under-slung gas install

Thanks Paul. I've literally just been looking at the Gas IT tanks and also the tanks available from Tinley Tech. Someone had put a link to them on another thread. The Gas IT tanks have the brackets welded on rather than using straps which I think would be a good option. I've just been measuring the ...

Re: Under-slung gas install

Ok cool I'll have a look for a Westy one. There is one on Ebay so I may take a look at that as I'm working up north this week. What sort of price do they usually go for?
