Re: Radius rod Bush problem

Was your welder able to build the hole back up Stuart? I couldn't believe how much material had been worn away

Re: Radius rod Bush problem

I guess the best thing to do would be to strip it and assess it. Repair panels are available https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/body-panel ... -left.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Have you see this thread Stuart? http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=169098" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Paul welded his elongated holes, they weren't as bad as yours though.

Re: ARB Bushes Question

That's interesting to know. Maybe I'll remove mine at some point and see what the difference is.

Thanks chaps

Re: ARB Bushes Question

I'm just in the process of replacing the ARB bushes and drop link bushes on my Syncro and I was wondering how the van would drive without the ARB fitted. Years ago when I was into offroading with Suzuki SJ's most people would remove the ARB for better articulation and it wouldn't effect the road han...

Re: Adjusted tappets, now won't start!

Sorry I'm not familiar with these engines, didn't realise they were hydraulic. What I thought the OP had done was just turned them all 1.5 turns so my suggestion was to return them to where they were.

Re: Adjusted tappets, now won't start!

Did you adjust them and check with feeler blades? If you don't have any I'd wind them back out 1.5 turns then buy a set of blades and adjust them properly.

Re: Diesel heater and leisure battery

We have a Webasto 2KW heater and if I remember correctly it draws 8-10A on start up and 0.5-1A in cycle.

Re: Cabin Heaters, Diesel powered, new Chinese ones = any good ?

I wouldn't buy a Chinese one personally. For less than £300 you can get a recon webasto from OBG (see previous page) and that includes the fitting kit. The webasto units are serviceable and pretty much all the parts are easily available. I fitted one of OBG's heater kits over Christmas and used it p...

Re: AHU with stock gearbox

I'm running an AHU engine in my Syncro with a mechanical pump. It's running standard gearing in the box but the gearing in the diffs has been changed as far as I know (5.43 originally now 4.86). With the set up I'm running I cruise at 55-60, it will go faster but it sounds a bit harsh. I've not real...

Re: dead battery

It could be that the battery was on it's way out and there was enough charge that the van started but as it cut out the alternator didn't have enough time to replenish the power used. I'd get the battery tested (drop test) and also try and find out why the van cut out.

Re: Fridge and leisure battery recommendation

Hi, I have a brand new dometic crx50 fridge for sale that'll fit in place of the original fridge. It's a compressor fridge that we didn't end up fitting (bought a new van that already has one)

Looking for £450 ono and just up the road from you.

Re: Raptor bed liner as a paint

A friend painted his Defender with bed liner. It looked ok and was very durable but the pain problem he found was that because it it a textured surface it always looks grubby as it held the dirt.
