Re: Pierburg 2E3 Idle Setup
In the picture 2 is the fast idle cam 3 is the fast idle position screw This cam is governed by the choke bi metal spring, and set by the corresponding springs. It is 'set' by depressing the acc pedal before cranking the engine. The screw is to adjust the position of the butterfly valve when the eng...

Re: Full front end replacement
To conclude this thread I went blindly into it and made a few "cock" ups but got there in the end.
Learning from mistakes as I went along.
It seems when you start something that looks massively complex it turns out not so much of either massive or complex.

Full front end replacement
https://i.imgur.com/rCIYA72.jpg I'm going to need some advice in fitting three/four large panels. Which supplier is best and can you get OE? Removal of the A pillars seems to be the most problematic, but it's more repairable than the others, so it would suggest to only remove the rotted areas. The ...

Re: AGG gearbox code choice.
Just to tidy up this old thread, after saving up and doing a hell of a lot of research I finally fitted my ideal choice These are 215 /70 x 16 (106) https://i.imgur.com/6RHbez2.jpg The percentage increase is subtle but it has made 1st gear much more useful In fact all the gears now use the AGGs abil...

Yes it should practically self bleed once you open the nipple.
It suggests that there's a fair bit of debris in the slave

Re: AGG gearbox code choice.
Thanks for all the replies.
The DT box rpm @ 70 look like the figures I'm after.
Aidan I'm presuming I have the usual code fitted to 1.9 DG. 1986
Its a 4sp.
The code is a bit unreadable on the gearbox.

Worn gearbox input shaft bearing.
Now I realise there is a little play in the shaft when it's not supported by the bearing in the crankshaft. But I have too much. My recent breakdown in Spain was a due to the clutch mechanism (throw bearing, seal and collar) being trashed. The mechanics replaced the above items and we were back on t...

AGG gearbox code choice.
I use a standard petrol engine (DG) gearbox on spec diameter wheels and tyres, on my ADY powered hightop. Is it wrong to assume that the extra power from the Golf engine could be better managed with a) slightly bigger tyres. Or b) a more suitable gearbox. I know what a) is but what would the answer ...

Is there a post anywhere that shows this manifold modification as it's really the only stumbling block for me.

Re: ADY hesitance and power loss.
I really haven't noticed any appreciable difference in power from the wbx 2.1 (on a carb) and this ADY. Im sure a dynograph would prove you right though. The only notable difference is in where on the rpm scale you get the full grin. The DJ delivered it in the lower half, whereas the ADY really pick...
