Re: Anybody else oil here?

Yep, 3in1. Didn't old points have a felt pad? And sort of on the same subject, the Advance and Retard vacuum went a few years ago when we were in The Peaks so really struggled. Called in the Green Flag and told the mechanic what I thought the problem was; he had no idea what a vacuum advance unit wa...

Earth on aerial

I have had a dig around on the web but can't really find an explanation. Does an aerial need to be earthed? I know it has the little 'cage' around the plug into the radio but does it need to be earthed around the mounting? Mines a pillar mount and reception is pretty crap. Much worse than it was a y...

Re: 'pastle white' doesn't match - any suggestion??

Go to a motor factors who can mix paint to match your van. The will have a spectrometer to identify the colour. That's the way to do it! The original paint will have faded/changed due to UV light, Global Warming, Brexit and any other factors. Try using the factory paint codes to match a 1990s Trium...

Step on the side door

Oooh, we must be getting a bit older. Has anyone put a step under the sliding door to help you in? I don't want anything fancy.

Re: Lost keys

I found out that the key to Lindsay's old SEAT Toledo (long since gone to the knackers yard) opened the van door locks and could be used to start it. Is any T25 owner near you whose key you could try?

Re: Underseal help

I've ordered 2 of each. If that does under the tank, happy days. I'll let you know how it goes, but it'll be after the bank holiday now. I need to do this and don't want to end up posting on Itchyfeets procrastination thread! I'm guessing you aren't too far from me, Chewbacca. Could I come and have...

Re: Water tank maintenance

Nice job there Itchey. Does yours have a drain on the tank? Ours doesn't and I'm always a bit concerned about 'mankyness' building up in it especially as we SORN it over the Winter moths now. I was thinking of maybe fitting one of these; https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/251868562402?chn=ps&dispItem=1&am...

New battery recommendation

It looks like I might need a new starter battery. It's to replace an Exide EB542 but I've been quoted nearly £100. Is this about right? Petrol 1.9 DG and fits under the driver's seat.

It's a piece of p*ss to make up your own. Shiraz told me how to do it and where to get the components from.
