Power Steering Adjustment Bolt

Hi All,  I'm after some help; I lost my Power Steering Bracket adjustment bolt (silly me) and need to purchase a new one.  The only reference I can find is the follow post at The Samba -  8mm bolt 35mm long. Probably should get a grade 10.9 bolt as well https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.ph...

Re: High idle, corrects when throttle is 'blipped'

Solved! Turns out the return spring to put the TPS back to its original position wasn't connected. When it was put back it was evident that the spring was past it, used a drum brake spring as a temp fix whilst I wait for a replacement to be delivered this week. Makes the throttle heavy a f.... hahaha

Re: High idle, corrects when throttle is 'blipped'

throttle cable ?? Not too sure tbh.. haven't checked yet. However I changed the ISCU back k to the original as the one I bought seemed to make it utter when trying to maintain a cruising speed. When changed back, it carried on doing it.. .so it can't be the ISCU haha. I'll have a better look tomorr...

SOLVED - High idle, corrects when throttle is 'blipped'

Vehicle - 1989 2.1 WB. My engine idles high, around 1500-2000 (no rev counter so can't be precise. it is also stable at whatever Idle speed it chooses). I've already changed the ISCU, next steps are to clean out ISCV and look at TPS. But I believe these are fine but will check nonetheless. Any furth...

Engine temp gauge not working

Hi guys, My engine temp needle isn’t moving. The engine runs normally and doesn’t overheat. Was working find this morning and then it just stopped at point (only significant event in my journey is that I hit a pretty big pothole). I’m waiting for it to cool down so I don’t burn myself when trying to...

That’s what I didn’t know, wether the pulleys were changeable... thanks!!

Trouble finding the right alternator...

Hey guys, I'm having trouble trying to find the right alternator to replace mine as my bearings are going and I want to buy one with a warranty. I don't want to fiddle around with replacing the bearings as I've never done it before and would prefer to purchase a Bosch/ equivalent with a warranty. Th...

Re: Low Oil Pressure light on idle flickers

Was due to the consistency of oil; the pressure switches measure so close to the pressure the oil prevents when warm. She was running fine before and after the local garage cocked up a simple job. I had a small leak from the oil pump cover and didn’t want to send the van to the other side of London ...

Re: Low Oil Pressure light on idle flickers

So an update is needed; I had the van recovered to the manufacturer of the engine free of charge by my insurance company after a local garage, albeit with good reviews, completely cocked up a simple job. They pressure checked everything, tested the wiring and switches. All is fine!! My shout out goe...

Re: Garage for Subaru conversion in Manchester or North West?

Hi Flakey, thanks for getting in touch. I would have been really interested, but I'm in a rush to find somewhere, and after posting yesterday I got put in touch with a firm that I've already agreed a decent price with. Not as local as you, but they are Subaru experts and have done a few T25 convers...

Re: Low Oil Pressure light on idle flickers

That sounds odd. Your van has the DOP sensing system, so the light should either be flashing or off. It should not be on dimly ever, even under marginal oil pressure conditions. There's a different fault somewhere. Having just reread the description, it seems it's your test light that's on dimly on...

Low Oil Pressure light on idle flickers

Hey Guys, So I used have a problem after long motorway mileage with the low pressure oil light flickering at idle.. but a very low flicker. Since then the engine was replaced (march 18) after the van was run in with a few more miles added it then sat for 5 months (my GF supposedly turned it over for...
