Re: AEF CS cams

Parts panic averted, I've managed to source a new cam, lifters and valves off the shelf.

AEF CS cams

Help!

I'm going away in my camper tomorrow night and a cam follower has just exploded taking out a chunk of the cam.

Does anyone know if the 1.6 CS cam will work in the Aef? As I have an old Cs engine sitting at the workshop.

Right after much playing, The choke valve gap is 3mm when cold, the van idles fine at this, but as the engine starts to warm up the valve opens and the engine dies. I'm going to change the fuel filter, (but it looks clean), and the inlet to head gaskets, does anyone have any other ideas what could b...

ive taken the inlet off the top of the carb and the choke vavle gap is about 5mm, haynes say 3mm. The bimetal choke seems to be holding it open and theres not enough adjustment in it to close the vavle to the 3mm required.

It starts and runs from cold for a minute or so, then stuggles for a bit, (reving then almost stalling then reving) before dying. Then when i start it again it runs for 2-3 seconds then stops. The only way i can keep it goin...
