Parts panic averted, I've managed to source a new cam, lifters and valves off the shelf.

Help!

I'm going away in my camper tomorrow night and a cam follower has just exploded taking out a chunk of the cam.

Does anyone know if the 1.6 CS cam will work in the Aef? As I have an old Cs engine sitting at the workshop.

Im trying to find a sleepy spot in the Croyde area. Does anyone know of any?

I'm looking to do some bodywork on the van and want to replace the NSF wheel arch, can anyone tell me where i can get an original vw type panel? Those metal pipes into the water pump are available from GSF. i know cause i may be after one, as mine sprung a leak and is now held together by chemical metal

Im not 100% sure but don't the mounting bolt positions differ depending on the calipers you have?

Right after much playing, The choke valve gap is 3mm when cold, the van idles fine at this, but as the engine starts to warm up the valve opens and the engine dies. I'm going to change the fuel filter, (but it looks clean), and the inlet to head gaskets, does anyone have any other ideas what could b...

ive taken the inlet off the top of the carb and the choke vavle gap is about 5mm, haynes say 3mm. The bimetal choke seems to be holding it open and theres not enough adjustment in it to close the vavle to the 3mm required.

ok, i now have the carb all wired up, but am still having the same problem. It starts and runs from cold for a minute or so, then stuggles for a bit, (reving then almost stalling then reving) before dying. Then when i start it again it runs for 2-3 seconds then stops. The only way i can keep it goin...
