I didn’t realize there is a bush fitted in the forward retaining bracket which creates a very tight fit for the L shaped alternator support bracket. Therefore it was essential to apply a lot of leverage to prise it out ! Hey presto

Beneath the Alternator is its support bracket which has to be removed to get the pump unit off. But this bracket is not being released from the u bracket above the hydraulic power steering unit.
How to get this bracket removed so that the pump can be lifted off

Eventually removed fuel pump and filter to check fuel flow ok. Changed filter but found pump rubber mounting had failed and pump mainly suspended by fuel pipes and electrical connection. Engine gets hot and pipe to expansion tank also BUT pipes to front radiator remain cold as does the radiator! Without further checking I suspect the Water pump impeller is broken and not circulating coolant. Water pump replacement necessary! Best place to purchase new pump and advice regarding easie...

Water leaking onto drivers side ( LHD) foot well probably from heater pipes?!? Or heater matrix, very difficult to see where it’s leaking? Davidtoft1, the heater has not been run for about 3 months ! But I did use to run for short periods before as per recommends!

Maybe lack of use has caused an operational fault!?!
