Re: t25 garages cornwall
Can’t thank you enough. Was about to resort to high street and cross fingers. Running out of time before MOT!

Re: t25 garages cornwall
I tried these chaps recently. They seemed friendly but very much an Aircooled focus so I wouldn't recommend for those like us with wet engines. They didn't even have any antifreeze in the garage (!) and failed to notice a leak despite header tank being half empty when I came to collect. It's clearly...

Recommended mechanic in Essex
Not sure if there is some rule against plugs for people, but I couldn't find a recommendation on here for a good T25 mechanic in Essex and got my fingers burned with the first bloke before finding somebody I'm really pleased with. So here's the advice I would have liked: I tried a place I won't name...

Re: Washing your van with parrafin
Thanks Itchyfeet, just what I needed to know. I doubt this van has seen wax from at least its last couple of owners so I'll give that a try when I find the time.

Re: Washing your van with parrafin
Can't tell you how much this made me laugh. OKAY NOT WASHING UP LIQUID THEN. Thanks for setting me straight. You wouldn't think anyone could be SUCH a beginner that they can't even wash their car properly.
Come on then people, what should I have used?

Re: Washing your van with parrafin
For anyone who, like me, finds this thread because they're a complete noob and they were looking for advice about what product to use just to wash their van and pop top, here's what I ended up learning: All the advice I saw on the internet was about posh shampoo, special caravan cleaning products, t...

Re: Blue coolant goes in tank. Orange coolant falls on road.
Thanks everyone! Some 2 part epoxy on the header tank crack got us to Norfolk (for a stunning weekend) and back without any leakage, and I'm now taking some deep breaths before changing, flushing and refilling.

Re: Blue coolant goes in tank. Orange coolant falls on road.
...on closer examination of all my wet clothes that stuff is definitely PINK not rusty. So forget the nonsense about whether there's a way it could change colour by magic. My mind is focused on the 'how bad is bad' question...
(And the one about air locks... Thanks again in advance!)

Re: Blue coolant goes in tank. Orange coolant falls on road.
Thanks itchyfeet! May I ask how bad is bad? As in, 'don't drive it three hours each way to Norfolk this weekend or it'll catch fire' bad, or as in 'it's not as good for the engine as if you only had pink or blue but not actively ruinous' bad, or somewhere in between? Previous owner handed us half em...

Blue coolant goes in tank. Orange coolant falls on road.
I'm new around here! In a post about an electronics thing today, I posed some questions which are really about coolant, not electrics. So this may be a more appropriate place to get help from you nice people... Things I don;t yet know: 5. Whether it is a problem that loads of coolant fell out [when ...

fixed: temp gauge only sliiightly working
I'm new to campers, mechanics and the forum - but today I fixed a thing after finding contradictory stuff online - here's the information I would have liked to have found, plus a couple of questions which arose. Bluebell is a 1986 petrol 1.9, new to us. Temp gauge was moving but only a tiny bit - ev...

Re: Flashing red light frequency changed!
I second that that should be in the wiki - I've been troubleshooting my temp gauge today and this explanation is tremendously helpful to understand what's going on. Thank you!
